[Dragon Ball Z: Post-Cell Saga/MCU] "The Broly Saga" (Gohan's No Way Home arc)

Post by mrfrankyg4 » Thu Aug 24, 2023 1:31 pm

Hey everyone! It's definitely been a while since the prequel to this post, but I wanted to conclude this in order to fulfill my vision.

Here are the previous posts for context:

Where I explain it all: viewtopic.php?p=1752409#p1752409

First saga (Bojack) post: viewtopic.php?p=1752968#p1752968

The next saga is called: The Broly Saga (**Influence will be taken from No Way Home) :

So it takes place a few weeks after the aftermath of Bojack's attack. A short montage reveals Gohan and Videl have been sightseeing around the world in her father’s helicopter. Having lived a sheltered life, Gohan enjoys discovering tons of sightseeing in various countries and monuments, etc. While Videl, having been a privileged girl gets to enjoy showing him around all the places she's been.

Skip to the present day, Gohan and Videl are enjoying a view of the desert. Things are going very peacefully until they hear a thunderous crash that shakes up the ground around them. Sensing a faint ki, Gohan goes to inspect it and sees a large unconscious man. It might not have been a crazy sight, but he notices a tail wrapped around his waist. Shocked, Gohan surmises he may be a Saiyan! Cutting the trip short, Gohan decides to take him to a medical facility in Capsule Corp so that he can be healed. The man wakes up, dazed and confused. To Gohan and Videl’s shock, he has no recollection of the past few days. Gohan introduces himself while the man replies “..I am.. Broly”. After being healed, Broly is encouraged to stick around some in the area to recollect his bearings. During this time, Gohan and Broly develop an easy and friendly rapport due to their kind natures, sharing tales of their past. As days go by, Broly has been receiving faint memory flashes of a bloodthirsty monster slaughtering anything in his path. Initially, he chooses to keep this to himself but Gohan senses something is off with Broly.

Whenever he receives a random bout of a memory, something flashes in his ki..something..off.Eventually, at one point, Broly’s ki goes off for a bit too long, enough for Gohan to sense something chaotic and sinister which chills him. Gohan confronts him, expecting to talk to the man he’s befriended. But once he notices the pupil-less eyes and deranged voice..he knows something has taken over.

(For this I want to make Broly's LSSJ transformation sort of like an alternate personality that takes over, hence the maniacal laughter and bloodthirstiness. Also, I'll incorporate a bit more of Green Goblin's agenda into his own character. He sees Gohan not using his own powers to their full extent and neglecting them, so he pushes him to use them for chaos and destruction.)

Broly maniacally cackles. “Hahaha...Why Gohan, you look rattled, like you’ve just seen a demon! Though… you’re not wrong.” Slightly shaken, Gohan angrily responds “So..that monster that slaughtered all the people on those planets..all along it was you!”

Broly snickers: “Very astute of you boy. I was wondering when you were going to see through that pathetic charade. Don’t be so surprised, we are Saiyans after all. Power is what we’re born with, and destruction is what we’re made for.”

“This isn’t you talking Broly, we can help you,” Gohan pleads. “Hahaha, oh really?” Broly mocks as he slowly advances toward Gohan. “What makes you think I need your help?! Here you stand, living like you truly believe that you’re one of these weak insects. Our power is not a curse, it’s a gift. Yet you let yours waste away, and well..that doesn’t sit well with me.”

Gohan shakes his head. “You don’t know what you’re talking abou-“

Broly cuts him off. “I’ve watched you from deep behind Broly’s cowardly eyes. Struggling, to have everything you want... while the world tries to make you choose. Gods don’t have to choose. WE TAKE!!”

Immediately Broly lets out a powerful yell as the size of his body increases, furthering the completion of his LSSJ transformation. Gohan is in utter disbelief at the sheer amount of energy he puts out. Broly dashes at Gohan, and knocks him down with a single punch, doubling him over. The other Z-fighters immediately try to put up a fight but Broly’s sheer ki blasts them away. Piccolo tries to fight while Gohan powers up to his SSJ1 form.

(His power still has a hold that was put on by Bojack in the previous saga).

Gohan puts up a valiant effort but finds Broly overpowering him at every turn. He throws Gohan into a wall and advances towards him like a lion to a gazelle. “Strong enough to have it all..” Gohan fires a ki blast point blank at Broly and follows up with a punch that Broly grabs and shouts “TOO WEAK TO TAKE IT!!” before returning one of his own to Gohan’s chest knocking him back. Enraged, Gohan blitz through Broly and starts raining down haymakers to his face, each punch making Broly manically laugh as he throws Gohan out like a rag doll. Shocked at the true nature of Broly's evil, Gohan continues to fight, but to no avail. Broly eventually suplexes Gohan through the building into the ground.

He proceeds to choke Gohan, taunting him as he does. “Your weakness Gohan.. is morality! It’s choking you! Can’t you feel it?!” All of a sudden, Videl attempts to come to Gohan's rescue by launching an attack of her own. As Videl's foot connects with Broly's head, he merely lets out a maniacal laugh, the force of it blowing her back. He releases Gohan momentarily, allowing him to gasp for breath as Broly turns his attention to Videl.

"Ah, the human girl. I almost forgot about you," he sneers, advancing towards Videl who is struggling to get up. His laughter echoes around them, causing a shiver to run down her spine. But she squares her shoulders, refusing to back down.

Gohan, recovering from the chokehold, watches in horror as Broly towers over Videl. His heart pounds in his chest, a wild fear gripping him. "Videl!" He shouts, trying to get up, but his body refuses to cooperate.

Broly raises a hand, ki energy crackling at his fingertips. "Time to say goodbye, little girl," he says, the energy growing brighter and more intense.

But just as he's about to release the blast, a sudden surge of power erupts from Gohan. It's like a dam has burst within him, the energy radiating off him in waves, his hair turning gold as he transforms into a Super Saiyan 2.

"NOOO!" Gohan roars, launching himself at Broly with newfound strength. He crashes into him, knocking him away from Videl. The two Saiyans grapple, their ki clashing and creating shockwaves that ripple through the area. Meanwhile, Videl staggers to her feet, watching the fight with wide eyes. She sees Gohan, now transformed, and feels a spark of hope. She had managed to reach Gohan, to remind him of what he was fighting for.

The battle between Gohan and Broly rages on, neither willing to back down. But now, Gohan fights with a renewed determination, fueled by his desire to protect those he loves. He won't let Broly harm anyone else, he won't let him win.

Broly, on the other hand, is taken aback by Gohan's sudden increase in power. But he quickly recovers, grinning widely. "Finally showing your true power, Gohan? Good. This will be fun."

The battlefield was engulfed in chaos as Super Saiyan 2 Teen Gohan and the Legendary Super Saiyan Broly clashed in a battle to the death. The intensity of their struggle shook the very earth beneath them, as each warrior unleashed their unimaginable power.

Gohan, his muscles tense and sweat glistening on his brow, fought with the agility and precision granted by his martial arts training. He weaved through Broly's devastating attacks, countering with a calculated combination of strikes and evasive maneuvers. Blow after blow, Gohan's determination burned within him, fueled by a desire to protect the innocent and uphold justice.

But amidst the clash of titans, a grim realization began to dawn upon Gohan. As his fists collided with Broly's impenetrable defenses, he could sense the raw, unadulterated evil emanating from his opponent. Gohan had faced formidable adversaries before, but Broly was different—a true embodiment of malevolence and destruction. In the midst of their battle, Gohan's mind raced with thoughts of the vast universe and the existence of other beings who, like Broly, were pure evil. He realized that no matter how powerful he became, there would always be those who could match his strength, those who reveled in chaos and darkness.

As Gohan exchanged blows with Broly, his resolve deepened. He understood that he couldn't afford to rest on his laurels, to believe that his training had reached its pinnacle. The universe was vast, teeming with countless threats, and it was his duty to protect it.

With each punch and kick, Gohan's determination intensified. He knew that he had to push himself even further, to transcend his current limits and tap into untapped reservoirs of power. The realization that pure evil existed in the universe served as a catalyst to become a beacon of hope in the face of darkness. As the battle raged on, Gohan's movements became more fluid, his attacks imbued with a renewed ferocity. He fought not just for his own survival, but for the survival of all those who depended on him. The weight of the universe rested on his shoulders, and he would not falter.

In a final, climactic clash, Gohan unleashed a devastating attack that sent shockwaves rippling through the battlefield. The force of his strike overwhelmed Broly, leaving him battered and finally dead. Gohan stood victorious, his chest heaving with exertion, but his resolve burning brighter than ever.

As he gazed upon the fallen adversary, Gohan made a solemn vow to himself. He would never stop training, and never become complacent or satisfied with his current level of power. The battle with Broly had taught him that there were those in the universe who embodied pure evil, and it was his duty to stand as a bulwark against their destructive ambitions. With newfound determination, Gohan left the battlefield, his mind focused on the arduous path that lay ahead. He knew that there would always be evil forces to face, but he would face them head-on, honing his skills, and pushing his limits to protect all that he held dear. But he wouldn't be doing it alone. His newfound companion Videl, is taken on as a student by Gohan's former master Piccolo.

But, Gohan found himself haunted by the untamed rage that had consumed him during his previous battles. Determined to harness his emotions and achieve true mastery over his powers, he came to another crucial realization. Gohan understood that to tame the tempest within him, he needed guidance from someone who had faced similar struggles. Recognizing Vegeta's own journey of grappling with his Saiyan heritage and the depths of his own anger, Gohan realized that training under the proud Saiyan prince would be the key to unlocking the control he sought.

And so, Gohan continued his journey, fueled by the realization that his training was a lifelong commitment. With unwavering determination, he embarked on a path of perpetual improvement, ready to confront any challenge that the universe dared to throw his way.

And there we have it!! Hope you guys were able to read the first post and understand what I wanted to do. In the show, I do feel that Gohan needed a lot more development in order to become the hero he was meant to be. Right after the Cell story, it was too big a gap in development, and considering what he became in the Buu saga, I knew I wanted to do things differently.

So by the end of the Broly Saga, Gohan has now inherently become just Future Gohan!

What do you guys think?!
