I looked to see if anyone had posted this yet, but I didn't see anything, so I apologize ahead of time if it has. XD

Any new DragonBall manga by Akira Toriyama himself is always awesome news.

BTW Jerseymilk, I think you are the only person here that has the subtitle of "Born 'n Bred Here"

I totally agree with you there.^^

Ya I was absolutely shocked when the subtitle actually changed on my 5000th post. I was already joking about the new pinnacle of geekdom I'd reached, so it's like it echoed it. XD

Unless I'm overlooking something, that news items says nothing about the one-shot that they're working on involving Dragon Ball in any way. Not that that diminishes the coolness of this news in any way.

To add some context to this news, Toriyama and Katsura are friends, as Toriyama has mentioned in several places.

Oh! That's the author who suggested the idea of fusion to Toriyama, isn't it? This should be good. :3

Woah, first news of that new Death Note one-shot in Weekly Jump and now something to look forward to from Jump Square! I'm guessing that's different from the Monthly Jump?

I never knew about these Jump Square authors' combined efforts thing? I'm guessing it's not a crossover chapter and is more of an entirely new one shot series? Either way, it still sounds like cool news.

It's basically the replacement of Monthly Jump, which is no longer printed. It only started printing last November.

I'm glad the guy's still around with these manga specials every now and then...(if only he'd consider a Naruto or more importantly a Bleach one shot piece down the line).

Also: Congrats on the title JerseyMilk :p

You can call me Rick because I'm not actually Piccolo.
I missed out on all of the DB Movie fun, huh?
Point blank: it's gonna suck if you want it to. Personally, I'm seeing it as a comedy.

And that's TWO trips to the Japanese book store for me! The Death Note one-shop and now this! I'm a huge fan of both artists, so I'll be looking forward to this like an 8-year-old looks forward to Christmas!

I guess we'll just have to wait and see. But the fact that he's now done three of these sorts of things (Cross Epoch, the Kochi-Kame 30th ann. thing, and now this) gives some hope that he'll do more in the future.

So is JerseyMilk's title an automatic thing like the rest of them, only JerseyMilk is so far the only person to get that high a post count, or is it a special title like Meri and Omae no Kaasan's ones?

You know, the whole thing with adding asides in tiny, tiny font so that anyone who actually wants to read them has to go through a lot of trouble to view them at a reasonable size is sort of annoying.

This is awesome! I do, however, have a question. Does anyone know how people who don't live close to a Japanese bookstore would go about getting this issue (when it comes out)?

Do a Google Map search to check if there's a Kinokuniya Book store near you. Just put in "Kinokuniya" then the state you're in under the search bar. I thought I was nowhere near a Japanese bookstore until someone told me that this place was nearby.

And if that doesn't work, then I guess you can pick one up online somehow (amazon Japan, ebay Japan, etc.).

This is really...odd. Their styles really contrast each other. It's still nice to see some new Toriyama stuff though.

The title was automatic as soon as I reached my 5000th post and yes, I'm the only pathetic geek who has reached that level so far. :P

It would be cool if they drew each others characters...

I enjoyed it for what it was, it was just way too short.
