Future Trunks' Timeline and Namek

Post by Forgotten Hero » Sat Aug 02, 2008 12:14 am

I'm not sure if it is ever mentioned or not. Why do Trunks, Bulma, or even Gohan ever go to Namek and use their dragon balls. Even after Goku's death, why do they never wish him back with the Namekian dragon balls?

^ I think it's because they didn't know where New Planet Namek was. Remember Goku, in the present, had a no idea where it was himself which is why he asked Kaio.
Be grateful the filler in Dragon Ball doesn't suck like the 3rd arc of Rurouni Kenshin.

I imagine that in the year following everyone's death, they were a little too preoccupied with the jinzoningen to goo dragonball hunting, and after that year is up they're gone for good.

Good point about the New Namek. But Kaio-Sama? He could have found it.
I'm probably reading too much into this...lol

Kaio was probably too restricted to help Gohan. Freeza was a galactic problem, so of course, Kaio would do anything to help them against someone that powerful in the north galaxy. The Androids are an earth only problem, and they aren't going to go into space or anything, so it's basically the earthlings problems and not Kaio's.

And Goku might not be able to be brought back. Depends if a heart virus counts as a 'natural death'.

Ok, that makes sense! Thanks!

We'll probably never know that, unless a daizenshuu states otherwise.
I personally think disease is not natural death. But this is Dragonball, and almost anything goes.

Well, I kinda think it is, but it all depends on what you think.

Even if Goku was allowed to return to battle the Androids, they would blow him into oblivion, because none of the pre-rosat SSJ would be powerful enough to win against the Androids in my opinion. Goku would just do the same as SSJ Trunks & SSJ Gohan.

He'd do better, but not enough to win.

I still think Goku would have made a big difference.
Goku would have keep everyone united and I think they could have handled the androids.
In Trunk's time line, we know the androids are much weaker than the ones in the present. Gohan, in the TV special, could probably handled one android, but not both. With Goku, I believe in the same strategy. I think the others could have handled one android on their own.

This only speculation.

The other time line in Dragonball Z really holds a strong interest in my fandom. Especially since Shin Budokai: Another Road, and Future Gohan's appearance in Sparking! Meteor.

Personally, I couldn't take SB:AR. The story got way too ludicrous.

The future timeline really is quite different from the present one, more than it would appear.

While the androids were still around, I always gathered that A- Bulma lost a lot of her labs and such and these could have included the spaceship sectors and B- if the androids saw a spaceship going up, they'd blow it up faster than a kid unwrapping a Christmas present.

After they're finally gone, I've always contented myself with believing that the Briefs find a way either through technology or calling in celestial favors to get to Nameksei and begin to rebuild their world.

I don't think someone who can build a time machine would have lost all of her labs and space supplies.

And I don't think Kaio would be that heartless. After all it would be in the interest for Goku to help his friends. Krillin had never even met Kaio before but he still spoke to him when Krillin had to use the spirit bomb, and also to tell the group where to find original Planet Namek.

And about that year thing, I always thought that only applied to the Earth Dragon Balls because I think Chaiozu and Tien had been dead for over a year but were revived with the Namek Balls. They had even agreed to stay for another full year before they found out the Namek year was shorter.

So unless Bulma really couldn't make/find a spaceship (which seems kind of dumb) i'm writing it off by assuming that Toriyama thought this idea was too complicated to have to explain off and would interrupt the flow of the movie special.
