==Console Games==
{{see|List of Dragon Ball Console Games}}
A video game console is a modified computer system that is used in conjunction with a display device (a television, monitor, etc.) to display the video game. The term "video game console" is used to distinguish a machine designed specifically for consumers to buy and use solely for playing video games in the comfort of their own homes, as opposed to arcade machines, which are designed for businesses so that they can charge a fee for customers to play.
==Handheld Games==
{{see|List of Dragon Ball Handheld Games}}
A handheld game console is a lightweight, portable electronic device with a built-in screen, game controls, and speakers. Handheld game consoles are run on machines of small size allowing people to carry them and play them at any time or place. Unlike video game consoles, the controls, screen and speakers are all part of a single unit.
==Arcade Games==
{{see|List of Dragon Ball Arcade Games}}
An arcade video game is a cabinet that houses a game's circuit board, built-in screen, game controls, and speakers. Unlike console games, which utilize cartridges and discs to play multiple games, an arcade game plays only the one game that is stored on the circuit board. The arcade cabinet is quite heavy, making it hard to move, and a user must typically pay each time they want to play the arcade game.

Reason: More background, history, and information.

Over the years numerous video games based around the Dragon Ball manga and anime adaptations have been released in Japan by varying developers across different platforms. The majority of these games were developed or published by Bandai (currently "Bandai Namco Entertainment").

While some of the earlier games were localized and released to the European market, this was not the case in North America. Up until the release of Final Bout in 1997 for the Sony PlayStation, none of the Dragon Ball games were localized for the North American market, with the exception of Shenron no Nazo which was released under the title "Dragon Power" and graphically altered with no specific branding for the franchise.
