When we first launched Kanzenshuu last April the forum wasn't quite ready to go, and many of us had to struggle through withdrawal for a few weeks. At the time, we unfortunately ran into a few snags porting it over and instead just threw the forum up under a new install with the old Daizenshuu EX layout to appease everyone, including ourselves. So after nearly eight years, the forum's layout has been entirely overhauled to reflect the website's more modern layout. In addition to the layout upgrade, we've added some more functionality "under the hood", although most of it you probably won't even notice. For those that are curious about those sort of things, almost everything is entirely CSS based now and runs through a bunch of updated PHP scripting. In layman's terms, it runs all nice and slick. I will note that this upgrade does not affect your personal data in any way and it has remained entirely untouched.
Here's a rundown of some of the new stuff:
- New layout with custom image set (by me)!
- Large images will no longer stretch the page (they will be shrunk to fit your screen).
- Links to your Facebook, Google+, and Twitter accounts via the profile page. For those that previously had Twitter accounts on the old Daizenshuu EX forum, you'll find those are still setup for you.
- Additional emoticons have been added.
- Certain items have been relocated on pages for easier use and access.
- Lots of under the hood stuffage: CSS based structure, improved PHP scripting, improved search functionality, etc.
If something appears to be showing up a little funky, please try refreshing your browser a few times before harassing me about it. Other than that, I'm open to hearing thoughts, opinions, concerns, wants, desires, etc.
Anyway, I hope everyone enjoys the "new" forums. Now get back to discussing Battle of Gods and whatnot!
I refresh the page, look away for a minute, and then when I come back - 'Whoa! Did the forum just glitch out on me? Wait, since when do glitches look...good...'
