So, the sound effects are all still muffled. I guess I'll take that over the clean, but slightly too loud ones in the first several episodes of part 1.

I hear what everyone's talking about with the muffled parts of the audio, but it's not terrible & it's not a deal-breaker for me.

Pretty much this. It's bizarre that they've put so much heart and soul into this dub, yet the audio mixer was sleeping on his job (or needs new equipment), and the sound effects were messed up, and they signed off on it without even noticing something was off. In the end, this is another thing to check off in a list of things wrong with Kai TFC, alongside the green tint and retained filler like the Hell stuff which contradicts the rest of Kai and now Super. It would be one thing if this was any general anime with generic sound effects, but this is especially noticeable since these are Dragon Ball's iconic sound effects, so it's much easier to notice that the EQ is noticeably off on them all (not to mention it also affects the narrator).

Since the only thing I was interested in was the dub, it hurts more than those other things. I will still get the rest, but my enthusiasm has gone down a bit as a result.

It might just be a bad rip on my end, but putting the audio files from EP 113 onward into Audacity reveals that the center track is about .001 seconds (or 28 samples at 48KHz) off from the rest of the tracks. I'm pretty sure that's what is causing the sound effects and narrator to sound odd on stereo devices (though, it's not much better in 5.1).

And then there's the really odd problem of the bass being removed from the music on the front and back channels for those same episodes.

Such a shame, I will say that to me it sounds better when I'm not using headphones watching clips of it...so that's something.

I actually like this scene in the original dub but the Kai version is better. Can't wait to see all of Part Two.

What are YOU talking about? Why did you bring this up out of nowhere? No one ELSE said anything like this, & it seems kinda stupid on your part.
To actually respond to this, I say, no they don't. Piccolo's newer voice, the less gruff one, is identical to Sabat's ZORO voice, while his Vegeta voice is gruff, but not as gruff as it used to be & has only gone down an octave. The voices are really distinct at this point, so I don't know why you're bringing this up. Take away the rest of the gruff in his Vegeta voice & I dare you to find any real similarities.

Well that's not good dude. You need to control yourself better. My comment has absolutely everything to do with this thread. People are posting clips of footage, I made a comment based on one of those clips. I saw the Vegeta Sacrifice one and both him and Piccolo sound almost identical now. That's my opinion. I am not sorry for that nor am I sorry for somehow offending you.

Really? While it's true that Vegeta and Piccolo share the same voice actor, they don't have the same voice. There are differences in their voices.

Damn, that sounds really good. Sean really did this scene awesomely. His performance in Z was good, but this destroys it. Much more realistic and grittier. 11/10 for sure
