If only Goku and Vegeta leave, it's quite possible Trunks will also get his new form in the manga. If he does, it would definitely mean it was in Toriyama's outline and the reason we got no explanation and name is because not even Toriyama could come up with one, or maybe he's saving this form along with its name and explanation for the next arc.

Maybe it will be a huge rage boost instead of an actual form but we'll have to wait & see.

Trunks is definitely getting a powerup, dunno why people thought it wouldn't be here. The manga isn't that different, it's just condensed with some non plot intrusive changes

I think he was misunderstood. He is ahead of anime as evidenced by the PV but his Manga won't be. He likely has finished the Black arc months ago.

As someone who left the manga hype train long ago, I still am super glad that it's not rushing to the end. I smell two more chapters. That should be enough to finish everything in the outline (assuming the second retreat is not in there) while still leaving enough room for a fair share of "padding", so it's not just bullet point-bullet point-bullet point.

They're going to come back with the Mafuba. It's going to fail. They're going to fuse, cue Vegetto, then Trunks somehow finishing him off. It's following the same outline, only difference is some minute details. No major change like you're expecting
