In the latest episode Whis says: "It appears Beerus-sama is really starting to enjoy this, He's never fought in such a restraint before"
What does he mean by that? It seems contradictory and confusing. Because the way how he says it should logically be that Beerus can finally go wild after slacking of for so long. But the word restraint is contradictory to that because he has to restrain himself.. And thus shouldn't be able to fully enjoy it. So what is it?

I still don't get it. Every person in the universe he's curbstomped before was with far less then 1% of his power. If he's enjoying "restraining" himself than you'd figure he'd have more fun with all those weaklings before that are much weaker than Goku since he actually has to put in some effort for the godly absorbed base Goku. Strong characters in dragon ball always enjoy NOT having to restrain themselves. So this is confusing to me.Adamant wrote:He's enjoying himself because fighting in such a restraint is something he's never done before. The situation is different. With the situation involving him in the Monaka costume, he's trying to balance holding back enough strength to keep from tearing the suit apart, while at the same time using enough strength to make it believable to Goku that Monaka is the strongest in Universe 7. It's that balance that excites him, as it's something he's never experienced before.GodVegetto91 wrote: I still don't get it. Could someone help me out with a non Dragonball related translation in PMs?
Re: The All-Purpose "Translation Request" Thread
He's not "restraining himself", he's "being restrained by something".GodVegetto91 wrote:I still don't get it. Very very literally, what Whis says is "He might be unexpectedly enjoying this. Because fighting while restrained by something in this manner is new to him."

へっへ~ ちがいますよ~~~だ
Heh ~ Chigaimasuyo ~~~ da
Heh~, you are wrong~~~!
As far as I can see there's nothing wrong with Viz' translation. As a side note it seems like Old Kaioshin mixes up polite speech (~masuyo) and plain speech (~da) giving him a rather quirky speech style.

One more question, within the context of the panel, is Old Kaioshin replying to the question East Kaioshin asked directly or did he include all questions such as Gohan's question when he asked maybe that[swinging the z-sword] was the point?
Re: The All-Purpose "Translation Request" Thread
As far as the context is concerned both Gohan and Kaioshin question, if swinging the Z-Sword would grant the greatest power in the universe, so it would seem that's what's Elder Kaioshin deems wrong, as we find out he's the one capable of doing that.hellobooboo14 wrote:Thank you very much.Shoryuken wrote:へっへ~ ちがいますよ~~~だ

Could someone translate this page?
Just want to see how it compares to the Viz translation.

Just the part where Piccolo is talking as if he's including Trunks or Krillin in the battle. For a stupid debate, of course.
Piccolo's quotes are really the only parts I need.

He doesn't use any pronouns beyond a "you" directed at Cell.Super Saiyan Turlast x4 wrote:Just the part where Piccolo is talking as if he's including Trunks or Krillin in the battle. For a stupid debate, of course.

So uh
Piccolo: "Under these circumstances, I don't think you have much chance of winning."
Cell: "It does indeed appear I have no choice but to check out in this situation."
Piccolo: "You will not be allowed to escape..."
But that's dumb and over-literal and the Viz translation is better. But I guess this is what you wanted?

These I believe come from the back of some DBZ Carddass cards.
Do they contain any interesting tidbits on these characters' powers that can be shared with us? Assuming they're legible enough:

Oh cool, I wonder, if that's Yamamuro's colored design for Janemba on that last one.

Re: The All-Purpose "Translation Request" Thread
Question: is Daizenshuu 10's list of anime-only battles (Original Battle Collection) in DB/Z episodes (1-153, 1-291), movies (1-16), and TV Specials (1-2) translated and available online anywhere? D2's manga fight guide is. What about the similar list (apparently with a lot of recycled Daizenshuu text) in Dragon Ball Extreme Battle Collection?
The Monkey King wrote:It was actually Beerus disguised as Zarbon #StayWokeRandomGuy96 wrote:He's probably referring to the Bardock special. Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

Perhaps a broader question than anything DB-specific, but - does anyone have any experience with this service, or can otherwise speak to their quality and safety?
