Yes! I already have everything then. For anybody concerned, it's definitely mega simpleTeeHallums wrote:Precisely. Re: Battle of Gods - The Kikuchi Cut
Just a quick update:
We'd initially planned to release this on Christmas, and to be perfectly honest, we could have followed through on that. If we had, we would have listed a few minor 'known issues' and released a V2 later down the line. Rather than deal with that and let a version we weren't 100% happy with out into the wild, we opted to delay it a little to really polish it up to the standard we want it to be.
For those concerned about the audio levels in the previews, they were ironed out during the QC process, and we're also releasing our own stereo mix so that those without surround sound systems will get the intended experience. Most players will downmix 5.1 just fine, but it's never as good as the real deal. Like the 5.1 track, this'll have two versions: one that'll sync to the US release and one for the JP version.
Things left to do:
- Fix some artifacting in Vegeta's voice when he hears of Beerus from Kaio
- Isolate the dialogue better post-failed SSJG transformation
- Whatever comes in from the rest of Kei's second QC pass
Almost there!
This project has been surprisingly more niche than I expected, but for everyone who's into it, I appreciate your patience!

Thanks for the update, and keep up the good work guys! You're all doing some fantastics works here!
Re: Battle of Gods - The Kikuchi Cut
I'm definitely looking forward to this! Just don't have anything worthwhile to add beyond "oh boy can't wait!"
Really glad we got an update though, was wondering after it didn't come out on Christmas. Glad you guys pushed it back though, better to have it perfect when it's out, than having to have several improved versions over time.

Re: Battle of Gods - The Kikuchi Cut
Man, this is a good idea. I still haven't watched this movie but what I've heard of Sumitomo is mediocre at best. I really wish Kikuchi was still active, because he's one of my greatest musical heroes and I'd give my youth for him.
"All of you. All of you must have KILL all the SEASONS!" -Dough (Tenshinhan), Speedy Dub of Movie 9.
"My opinion of Norihito's Sumitomo's new score is... well, very mixed. The stuff that's good is pretty darn good, but the stuff that's bad makes elevator music sound like Jerry freaking Goldsmith." -Kenisu

Re: Battle of Gods - The Kikuchi Cut
Is this still being worked on? Shame if it has been dropped as I was really looking forward to this.
If it's still being worked on then, I'm an idiot, for stating this

We don't currently have anything in the works at the moment. But I could certainly see us doing one in the future!Baggie_Saiyan wrote:Any plans for doing this with "F"?

And we are go!
US Synced Tracks - Stereo // 5.1 Surround
JP Synced Tracked - Stereo // 5.1 Surround
Again, if you don't have a 5.1 system, we do recommend the stereo mixdown. Although your media player may downmix 5.1 automatically, it's probably not going to be as accurate as our manual effort.
If you notice any issues, let us know, and we'll release a v2 if necessary. Hope you enjoy!
Here's two trailers myself and Tee put together. Nothing serious or really representative of the product, but they're fun all the same!
-
Muxing Guide:
Rip your Blu-ray to PC with something like MakeMKV. You can either use the trial or find a free beta code on their forums. It's pretty self explanatory, but feel free to ask any questions.
First up, download MKVToolNix GUI. MKVMerge will also work, but it's essentially been discontinued at this point. Open it up!

Drag the MKV that MakeMKV created from your Blu-ray disc into the input section (top blank box). It'll show the components that the MKV is made up of in the bottom box. Be sure to deselect the audio tracks, leaving only your video and subtitles selected.
If you're using the US release, you may want to leave your dub audio and forced subtitles selected, but that's up to you. We'll uncheck them for this tutorial.

Next, drag in the Kikuchi audio you downloaded from us! It should automatically check itself, but it's worth double-checking (oh god, the puns!) that it's enabled.

At the bottom of the program, you can select where you want to save the file. Pick a location and hit 'Start muxing'.
All done. Easy!

Re: Battle of Gods - The Kikuchi Cut - [COMPLETE!]
Well, now that it's out, here is a link to my "Trailer" 2 for this project.
It's worth noting for anyone that tries this out, if when muxing the audio, it ends up being off sync by any margin, there is an option in MKVToolNix that allows you to add in a delay into your mux, as seen here:

Hope everyone enjoys this project as much as we do!

Thank you for posting this! I'm definitely going to watch this later. Cannot wait!
Re: Battle of Gods - The Kikuchi Cut - [COMPLETE!]
It's probably worth mentioning since I haven't seen it said anywhere that this edit is for the theatrical cut of the movie. Are there any plans in the future for a release of the extended version?

Well anyone who has even attempted to edit something; would know that a re-scoring project like this is super impressive. It's really neat to know that fans of the original score have to option to watch the film with Kikuchi now . Must have taken a while to find the right placements and volumes. I actually didn't even know Battle of Gods had a 5.1 Japanese track lolAjay wrote:Thanks! Was a little worried we were never going to get any feedback.
