You cannot complain about and report someone playing the victim while simultaneously posting a screenshot from your external social media account showcasing that you have been blocked by someone.
Kaboom may have strong thoughts about the subject matter which many of us do not agree with, but he's certainly entitled to them. I do take issue with very broad generalizations/statements like "wrong side of the issue" (things are more often than not more complicated than "right" or "wrong"), but everything else is fairly straight forward and fine.
Both "sides" may continue to engage, so long as it meets the guidelines and requirements that we outline. This goes for everyone, of course.

I'm not going to argue with you, because you are right. What I want to clear up is when I said he was playing the victim, it's because he stated we were trying to impede him from doing this. Which isn't true and makes it seem like we were all telling him not to or he would get in big trouble or something. But he still went on telling all of us that we were trying to stop him from doing this and telling us that our standards are rock bottom. Yeah, I posted a picture from my social media, but that was because he was clearly referring to me and, when called out, just resorted to blocking me. Which is not good behavior for anyone that gets called out on. That seems like something someone who know they're in the wrong would do. Maybe I should not have posted it, but it was to prove a point.VegettoEX wrote:You cannot complain about and report someone playing the victim while simultaneously posting a screenshot from your external social media account showcasing that you have been blocked by someone.

I noticed that some characters are unlocked by doing side quests, but there are others that need certain side quests to be completed before the characters show up in rifts.
Do I have this right or am I missing something?

You are kind of right. I'm pretty sure certain characters will show up regardless of whether of not you've beaten a particular side quest but you won't be able to recruit them. So you might run into Frost or someone in a Time Rift but to actually recruit him you have to have beaten a quest.ShadowBardock89 wrote:I noticed that some characters are unlocked by doing side quests, but there are others that need certain side quests to be completed before the characters show up in rifts.

Re: "Dragon Ball Fusions" Official Discussion Thread
Apparently, if you talk to Young Gohan in post-game, Pan asks him to fuse with Kid Trunks and goes to challenge Beers and gets wrecked. Monaka is also there as well and if you talk to him, Whis says similiar to what he said in the anime about his power and then for you to go "over there" and seemingly ends at that.
Is this post-patch only? Never found this conversation before.

Re: "Dragon Ball Fusions" Official Discussion Thread
I'll say this on the subject of the silly stick censorship...
Is it a bad enough censorship that one should resort to protesting the game and refusing to buy it? Absolutely not. There is so much good stuff in this game. Soooo much good stuff. I'd say it's one of the best Dragonball games possibly ever.
So I disagree with Kaboom's decision to protest the game. But I absolutely agree with him 110% that this is some of the most ass backwards censorship ever displayed in video game history. Years from now, people will be citing Dragonball Fusions as one of the worst and most illogical cases of censorship ever. With (almost) every case of censorship in video games, you could at least understand why the company decided to censor the game. Outfits too skimpy? Better censor it as to not offend soccer moms and children who would possibly play the game. Censoring half naked women because you think it's overall sexist and oppressive to women by a western standard? Okay I guess. Keep in mind I'm not defending any of these things, I'm simply saying that you can get an idea of where the company is coming from when they do these things.
But with Dragonball Fusions, there is literally no logic to be found on this decision. It's so absolutely mindboggling that I haven't even heard anyone come up with one single theory as to what possible reason they would have to do this change. You'd immediately think "Oh, well they're just making the swords into sticks because swords = weapons and we don't want to show weapons to any possible children playing the game." Stupid logic, but you'd understand where they're coming from at least. But no, the fact that guns are still in the game AND ARE STILL UNCENSORED WHILE SWORDS ARE CENSORED INTO STICKS IS SIMPLY JAW-DROPPING. Does it ruin the game? Absolutely not. But does it ruin some of it? Absolutely. Light Sword is now one of Trunks' "iconic moves" in the Dragonball franchise. Except in the game, it's just a sad little stick. Can you imagine Goku's Kamehameha somehow being censored and changed into something else? It'd be insane. It'd ruin the character and ruin anyone else who knows the Kamehameha (aka everyone).
So should people protest over this change? Hell no, this is a great game. Should people be pissed about it, and if they're passionate enough try and do whatever they can to let the publisher know that it's bullshit and it should change? Absolutely. I don't really care about these sad "sob stories" of "oh woe is me think of the innocent customer service representatives!". No one is aiming their anger or their protest at those people. They are simply a means to an end in getting the message over to the higher ups. How the hell else would you go about asking for change? Censorship is a very serious issue for a lot of gamers, and while I'm never really enraged enough by it myself to protest a product, seeing ridiculous backwards ass decisions like this should not go unaccounted for, and Bandai or whoever else was responsible should at least fess up as to what the hell the logic was behind this change...

Alright so now that the rant is over, how has Fusions been doing in terms of sales in the west? Do you guys think a sequel may be likely? If so, what other characters do you want to see added to the game? For me personally, more forms of Gohan would be nice, like Kid Gohan. Really weird that SSJ2 Gohan isn't in the game at all. In fact, I don't think there's a single SSJ2 character in the entire game. Speaking of Super Saiyan characters, does anyone else feel like it was a dumb decision to make each transformation a separate character? It makes things look really silly when you fuse with a super saiyan without your character having gold hair to begin with.

On that note, did someone thought about starting a petition on change.org or a site like that? I already bought the game, I even pre-ordered it and I don't regret it. But that doesn't mean that I'm ok with this senseless censorship. I think that there are lots of people around the world pissed with this but not enough committed to try to do something about it. Support a petition doesn't take long and lots of people does it for a lot of insignificant things. This could maybe be a way to reach Bandai Namco directly avoiding customer services and all that and with enough support and comments from their consumers they'll have to at least acknowledge the problem.Asura wrote:[spoiler]I'll say this on the subject of the silly stick censorship...

Some of you may think that I should do it instead of propose it, but as you can see my English abilities are very limited. This has to be properly explained and redacted and besides I don't use any social network wich are crucial to promote a petition like this. So, maybe Kaboom or somebody else may be interested in start a petition?

Re: "Dragon Ball Fusions" Official Discussion Thread
Starting a petition on Change.org seems pretty pointless, almost all (if none) petitions, are heard. Bandai won't change their point of view in this. Although they have said that it was a joint decision with Nintendo of America, this seems to be something of Treehouse, a SJW-esque subsidiary of Nintendo famous for censoring content, of which some employees have admitted such thing. Just like they did with Tales of Berseria or the new Fire Emblem.
Chelentano wrote:On that note, did someone thought about starting a petition on change.org or a site like that? If you want to have a genuine conversation about content and censorship in the modern era of video games as it relates to Dragon Ball, this is not how you accomplish it. As much as I disagree with Kaboom's stance and find it weird that this is the sword he wants to fall on, and as much as his heated arguments are... well, heated... at least he's able to present them without resorting to pejorative internet talk. I think that says something, and I can respect that.

That said, since it's too late to vote with my wallet anyway (having only found out about the censorship after originally buying the game at retail on release day), I have been considering picking Fusions back up pre-owned somewhere for cheap so that I can still at least play it even as I try to work against the censorship. It's tough to entertain that mindset when getting bombarded with "protesting the censorship is stupid, it doesn't matter, just play the game anyway you whiner" comments, but we'll see how it goes and how much spare cash I have over the next few weeks.
As for exactly how I'm protesting the censorship, I've been working on getting a humble little campaign started... gathering contact info for different Nintendo and Bandai Namco branches, writing up easy form letters that folks could print out and mail, and stuff like that, and preparing to make a centralized thread on Reddit or something. Probably later this week.
Like Asura practically read my mind in saying, what makes this so bad and worth making a fuss over is that it's so unprecedented. To my knowledge swords have never been censored like this in a DB game's western release, even on family-friendly Nintendo systems. If some gaggle of dopes at Treehouse were responsible for this, then they need to have their noses rubbed in it and firmly told, "NO. Do NOT do this," before they make it a habit.
I don't really have unrealistic hopes that this particular game will get the censorship reversed... but if we can at least get their attention, make someone higher-up realize this was a no-no, and optimistically get a "sorry, we won't do it again" promise of some sort... I'd consider that a satisfactory victory.
Dragon Ball ended in 1997.

Yeah, one of the thing that makes one dissatisfied, is knowing that the distributors of the game are cutting out actual content, with no logical reason behind it. One can understand that they cut things like nude's scenes (not supporting that), but swords seems illogical. Xenoverse 2 and the English release of Dragon Ball Super do not have this kind of censorship. For me, I like the game a lot and I don't think that the stick thing is enough to not purchasing it, since the game is a lot of fun, but I understand your point. Good luck.Kaboom wrote:Is... is this on purpose?

Between you and the Namekian I think I've lost my touch at genocide. -PSN Xenoverse 2 account: Yonedge-HP. Freeza's race Ki blast avatar: Yonedge.

Re: "Dragon Ball Fusions" Official Discussion Thread
That's harsh. I completely understand where you're coming from, but I don't feel like it's appropriate to bad-mouth people this way. Surely there's a more sane way to respond to this, like the way you had been before this? Maybe I'm just overreacting or reading too deep into this. If so, I beg your pardon.Kaboom wrote:If some gaggle of dopes at Treehouse were responsible for this...
Anyway, my stance on the censorship is pretty much the same as a few others here. It's incredibly questionable, but it feels quite insignificant in the grand scheme of the game itself. I'm honestly more concerned about the North American localization issues, such as text running off the screen and incorrect quiz answers.

I think you're overreacting. He's simply calling a spade a spade. Whoever made this change is an idiot, and they deserve to be called out and challenged about this nonsense, whether they're from Treehouse, Bandai Namco, or someone else.

This (I haven't updated it)? Or was it something else?dbzfan7 wrote:I had a huge list on rankings and now it's gone.....some characters ranks in this game are ridiculous.

Presumably it would have been a group of people who all came to the same conclusion. Plus to make some kind of change to a game to this scale would have had to be approved by others. I don't really see the need for the censorship as swords have been seen in many other games on the 3DS and it has been a big part of the franchise for a while. Hopefully this trend won't repeat itself. The main game itself though is fantastic and I love recruiting all the new characters.Asura wrote:Whoever made this change is an idiot, and they deserve to be called out and challenged about this nonsense, whether they're from Treehouse, Bandai Namco, or someone else.

I finally recruited all the characters, but I think my 100% race stops here. No way will I have the patience to create every fusion
