Dragon Ball GT: A Hero's Legacy remastered in HD on Blu-ray?
To my knowledge, Funimation hasn't remastered or 'remastered' it so who did this? How does it look like?
ZIMA has released the DBZ movies in Latin Spanish on Blu-ray by using Funimation's Digitally Remastered version.

It's almost certainly an upscale of the poor-quality version we all know.
Toei are the only ones who would have film of this, and we're not actually 100% sure that they do have film of it... But if they do, they never used it in any release, they used the old tape master.
And to my knowledge, no foreign company has had a film master for this special sent to them.
So no, this almost certainly won't be a true remaster, or even remotely in HD.

The point of Dragon Ball is to enjoy it. Never lose sight of that.

You're probably right, but I hope you are not. Let's see if someone here actually bought this.Robo4900 wrote:It's almost certainly an upscale of the poor-quality version we all know.

Indeed; a proper film-sourced version of this special would be to die for.sangofe wrote:You're probably right, but I hope you are not. Let's see if someone here actually bought this.

If it's the Funi master, it's the old, blurry, crappy, standard-def tape master we know from all the other releases of the special.HakkaiBills93 wrote:Maybe Funi did it too and just didn't release it , zima have used funimation master for all others movies (even if they used wrong ending for lot of z movies)

Come to think of it, was this ever released in Japan outside of the dragon box ?

I know it's been released everywhere else but what about Japan ? there isn't any single listing for it on the site here so I assume it hasn't been released there outside the dragon box.SuperCyan2 wrote:Yes, various countries in the West released it on DVD.sintzu wrote:Come to think of it, was this ever released in Japan outside of the dragon box ?

Unfortunately to the best of my knowledge A Hero's legacy hasn't been released in Japan outside of the DBOX's (heck it didn't even appear on any of the original Japanese GT singles releases that came out after the DBOX's, then again the Bardock and Trunks DBZ specials weren't included on the original Japanese DBZ singles either although those two eventually did see a rerelease on the Dragon Ball Z Special Selection DVD, sadly the same can't be said about A Hero's Legacy)sintzu wrote:I know it's been released everywhere else but what about Japan ? there isn't any single listing for it on the site here so I assume it hasn't been released there outside the dragon box.SuperCyan2 wrote:Yes, various countries in the West released it on DVD.sintzu wrote:Come to think of it, was this ever released in Japan outside of the dragon box ?
If anyone has any of the DB/DBZ/DBGT or Maho Tsuaki Sally Japanese single DVD's that they'd be interested in selling send me a PM and I'll see if we can work something out. .

It has been remastered alongside the other GT dragon box content.HakkaiBills93 wrote:like the plan to destroy saiyajin from the dragon box wasn't either maybe cause those hasn't been remasteredsuperrayman3 wrote:Unfortunately to the best of my knowledge A Hero's legacy hasn't been released in Japan outside of the DBOX's (heck it didn't even appear on any of the original Japanese GT singles releases that came out after the DBOX's, then again the Bardock and Trunks DBZ specials weren't included on the original Japanese DBZ singles either although those two eventually did see a rerelease on the Dragon Ball Z Special Selection DVD, sadly the same can't be said about A Hero's Legacy)sintzu wrote:

No. The GT special wasn't remastered. Neither was the original plan to eradicate the Saiyajins.sintzu wrote:It has been remastered alongside the other GT dragon box content.HakkaiBills93 wrote:like the plan to destroy saiyajin from the dragon box wasn't either maybe cause those hasn't been remasteredsuperrayman3 wrote:Unfortunately to the best of my knowledge A Hero's legacy hasn't been released in Japan outside of the DBOX's (heck it didn't even appear on any of the original Japanese GT singles releases that came out after the DBOX's, then again the Bardock and Trunks DBZ specials weren't included on the original Japanese DBZ singles either although those two eventually did see a rerelease on the Dragon Ball Z Special Selection DVD, sadly the same can't be said about A Hero's Legacy)

If it wasn't then why does it look like GT's episodes ?sangofe wrote:No. The GT special wasn't remastered. Neither was the original plan to eradicate the Saiyajins.sintzu wrote:It has been remastered alongside the other GT dragon box content.HakkaiBills93 wrote:

I haven't seen them in awhile (years) so maybe I'm remembering it wrong but what about Z's specials ? were those remastered ? they're on Blue ray so I assume they were.sangofe wrote:But it doesn't.sintzu wrote:If it wasn't then why does it look like GT's episodes ?sangofe wrote:

The Funi remaster? Well, it's something but not necessarily great.sangofe wrote:Yeah. The Z specials have been remastered.
