You can't sense ki in the apartments that's why they were surprised when they burst through the door and didn't notice the fighting outside till Yamcha looked.

Don't read too much in to who blasted the henchmen, Yamcha had panel time so sal was probably just giving the other two something to do.

What are we thinking, beam canons with both hands?

He's doing it only with one hand in this page though. Just moving the arm fast.

He wouldn`t be the closest after he went back and talk with Kuririn and the others.

It's so rare to see a two-handed Makankosappo! Didn't Piccolo imply during the Radditz fight that it was supposed to be used with two hands but since he was missing one at the time he had to improvise a one-handed version? I know I remember reading that somewhere, but it's been a while since I've seen/read the full Radditz fight so I'm blanking on whether a line like that was actually there.

Well I remember him saying he only needed one hand for it, and that he hasn't mastered the attack.

Ahhh, that must be it. "I only need one hand" could be seen as implying that he could (or would normally) use both hands, but only one is absolutely necessary to pull it off so he'll be fine with just the one. I wonder if the long charging time he needed in that fight had something to do with the one-handedness -- like only one hand was needed to launch the attack, but having the second hand would've helped with charging it quicker? And now that makes me wonder about future Gohan and how he must've had to develop a new method of using the Kamehameha since before it was always two hands (...except for that one time when it was two feet instead. XD)

Of course, the original Makankosappo definitely couldn't turn in mid-flight if it missed, so I figure this is intended to be an improved version Piccolo came up with over the years rather than just DBM's answer to the question of "what if Piccolo had been able to use the Makankosappo with two hands rather than only having one?" Still always interesting to see a two-handed Makankosappo.

Can he actually do that in the actual series?

we never saw it but I dont see why he couldn't.

I mean, Goku did a Kamehameha from his feet so a double SBC should be okay.

Imo, the most meaningful thing about the page is the fact that the beam has changed direction, meaning that Piccolo is controlling it, not that there are two beams.

It feels strange now seeing Freeza being weaker than SSj post-Buu saga Goku in DBM since we have grown used to his current new power in the last three years.

So, Piccolo divided the power of a single, very powerful attack into two? One designed to drill through opponents that are much more powerful than he is? And he somehow made it into a cage?

Eh.
