This and the Cell Jrs are the only instances where the manga was horrifically violent. You guys act like that was way more common than it actually was. Also the Cell Jrs were barely sentient creatures anyway.

I don't think it is. Gohan's violence was all in simple, efficient strikes and the brutality of it was just showing how much more powerful he was.
A similar thing would just be having one Makankosappo pierce Freeza. Having it blow multiple chunks of him and rip him to pieces, and display it more prominently, is quite different.
So you're saying Toriyama would never draw Freeza sliced into chunks and pieces?
Freeza being cut up by Trunks? Not displayed prominently, very little gore due to lack of blood.
Freeza cut by the Kienzan? Caused by a single attack, not unnecessary overkill.
I agree, Toriyama wouldn't draw multiple Makankosappo taking bloody chunks out of Freeza. This could have been down with one attack, which makes the violence unnecessary.
The manga has brutal moments but they're infrequent and effective. DBM is just really in-your-face with gore. A really good example is the manga showing a wide pan panel with one of Boo's victims ripped in half, DBM shows an incredibly zoomed in shot of that victim in one of their specials.
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

Yeah, right. I'm sure I imagined Babidi blowing a guy's head off. Super Buu entering a guy until he exploded. A whole family torn apart, with a woman having her lower half missing, outside Babidi's ship. Tenshinhan losing limbs. Kid Goku kicking the eyeballs of the head of Piccolo's minions. Piccolo Daimao' being penetrated. Piccolo Jr ripping his own arm off. Goku and Radditz being penetrated and the resulting large loss of blood, the guy that was drank by Imperfect Cell...
Surely the only instance I could find...

Even if you consider DBM to be more gory overall than the series, calling it "in-your-face with gore" is an exaggeration, at least to me. Manga in general has never been "prude" in terms of injuries and sex, nor do I see the advantages in a fan manga being that, nor do I see how it should be considered especially gory compared to any run of the mill live action TV show that depicts fights and fatalities. But that's my opinion. I didn't even think about the gore at all, it just seemed natural that being hit with those attacks would be like that. A slight scorch mark is what feels wrong to me.
What are the mechanics behind Goku & Freeza's brief mental battle where Goku's getting old inside the image fight?
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.
How the Black Arc Should End (by Lightbing!):
Spoiler:
Absolute Zamasu(my name for their fusion) wins. He fulfils his utopia and dwells in his loneliness(x amount of time for this to happen). He starts to doubt of his achievements, Goku's body influences him to seek out challenges but there's nothing. Perfection becomes a curse. Absolute Zamasu starts to dread his existence and presents himself to the Omni-King, detailing on his actions.
Using his powers the Omni-King restores everything to the moment before Goku and Vegeta perish, humanity's last barrier. Zamasu concedes. He ask for forgiveness(mainly to Goku, Gowasu and Trunks) and understands that his justice isn't justice at all. He asks for judgement and the Omni-King delivers.
Trunks is forced never to travel in time ever again, all the time-machines are destroyed.
I can't believe Multiverse made Piccolo look so fucking cool. That double Makankosappo is so good, I hope Toei will use it in the future, and as some users pointed out Piccolo implied he could do a two handed version in the manga.
This is surely a better way to give justice to the move than what happened in the Super's anime.

What's your overall feeling of the good people versus the bad people. I feel like with Dabra and Freeza going down and a weaker supreme kai being stronger than Cold the good guys have this, unless Ginyu switches with the right people..
Yamcha almost certainly did not cheat on Bulma:
He was afraid of Women, Bulma was the flirty one.
Yamcha wanted to get married (it was his gonna be his wish)
He suggested they settle down in the Trunks saga. Alternate future Trunks is not a reliable source.
Toriyama wanted new SSJ Kids and not make new characters.
I actually really like this mini arc, it gives everyone chance to shine

Ultimate Gohan must be surprisingly difficult to draw. Neither DB Super nor this fan manga seem to be able to draw a good one (his hair spikes are way too small here).
Are the honoriffics normally used in the comic? I don't remember.
I also noticed that a few pages back West Kaioshin refers to South as 'South Supreme Kai', they're usually referred to as Kaioshin in this manga right?

Can someone give me some backstory? Who's that mother?
Power levels are not just big numbers:
Spoiler:
Power levels establish tension and drama. People who care about them (well, people who care about them in a narrative) don't care about the big numbers or the fancy explosions. If you have character A who's so much above character B, who's the main character, you're gonna be left wondering how in the hell character B, the character we're supposed to care and root for, is going to escape the situation or overcome the odds. It makes us emotionally invested.
If character B doesn't escape the situation in a believable way that's consistent with previous events, then that emotional investment is gone. It was pointless tension, pointless drama made just to suck in the viewer. It has no critical value whatsoever. The audience is left believing that the author can just create whatever scenarios he wants and what happens to the characters is decided by whatever the author wants to happen, regardless of the events that happened in the story. Which, in fairness, is what happens, but the audience wants to be fooled. The audience wants to know that the world they're following has rules. That the world they're invested in isn't going to bend to external factors that are irrelevant to them.
An author can do whatever he wants with the characters, that's not false. But the author should also have the responsibility to make sure it fits in cohesively with the other events in the narrative he has created.
Super Mangas treatment of the humans was so appalling it made exclusion of the U16 and U18 humans here seem damn charitable by comparison.
At least U9 are going to get more action very soon.

So which Piccolo (and which one had his arm blown off) and which Gohan is which? Didn't the other Piccolo and the other Gohan go to babidi. How is he free to help here?
I'm losing track.

Yeah normally in these kinds of situations there is a visual cue to know which character is which :/
For example they could have had one of the Piccolos keep his hat and cape...
