Congratulations. It does have a 90s flavor to it, now that I think on it.

One Piece, the king as usual. Shingeki's popularity is also pretty damn impressive. Surprised, no Togashi titles made it, but oh well.

You should change your title. Dragon Ball is placed in third, not Dragon Ball Super.DragonBallFoodie wrote:https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/intere ... ra/.140407

The lack of Hokuto no Ken is disturbing.

Not surprised that One Piece came out on top. It's the best selling manga in the history of Japan and one of the best selling comics books ever.

How much this distinction matters might be debatable, but strictly speaking this was a poll of "most representative [of the era]" not "best".

Not sure when that started exactly, but think that's more during the Showa era as affiliated with the 80s as that series is.Polyphase Avatron wrote:The lack of Hokuto no Ken is disturbing.

Togashi's Yuu Yuu Hakusho was good but i can't say the same for Hunter x Hunter atleast in manga form. The art is lazy in weekly releases, the over-exposition turns it into a novel and it's a chore to read. Reading DB after HxH is like a breath of fresh air due to how much better the composition of expositions and pictures is.Saikyo no Senshi wrote:One Piece, the king as usual. Don't get me wrong, when doing good Togashi is a great artist but too much narration/exposition at times makes it less enjoyable.
I prefer Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, DB/Z/GT Movies, Dragon Ball Super and Dragon Ball GT in Japanese.
For DBZ Kai and two new Movies I like both Dub and Sub. I Prefer Shunsuke Kikuchi Soundtracks over All other Composers.

Also, what is Kingdom? That is the only manga I do not recognize.

Where is Berzerk, Death Note and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure?
Re: Dragon Ball voted third best manga of the Heisei era (1989-2019)
The manga ran from September 1983 to August 1988, so it is pure, 100 percent Showa.Super Sonic wrote:Not sure when that started exactly, but think that's more during the Showa era as affiliated with the 80s as that series is.Polyphase Avatron wrote:The lack of Hokuto no Ken is disturbing.
I think that distinction makes all the difference myself. Given that the Dragon Ball manga finished in early 1995, it wrapped up fairly early in the Heisei era, present for about six out of its thirty years. One Piece had a much more consistent presence, being around for twenty-two out of said thirty. It's actually pretty impressive for Dragon Ball to rank third when the manga finished at only around the 20 percent mark.Theophrastus wrote:How much this distinction matters might be debatable, but strictly speaking this was a poll of "most representative [of the era]" not "best".
