Since I'm still PS3 newbie.

1. PSN is sorta your identity, right? Like usernames listed before you login in to do some stuff such as watching movie or play game?

2. Once made your own username, is it automatically your PSN for online play?

If so, my PSN would be Vegetto.

Yep, it's automatically your PSN for online play. You get signed off automatically when you play a PS/PS2 game, though.

No. The username you use on the console when you boot it up and your Playstation Network ID can be different. Anything can be your console username. But if your PSN ID has to be something that no one has selected and (somewhat) appropriate and approved by Sony.

I have a username for my UK account, Incorrigible, but because that was taken I went with IncorrigibleMike. My japanese, SpankyMcSnuggleBum, was too big to fit as a PSN ID, so I shortened it to SpankySnuggleBum.

I'm considering getting another PSN ID, possibly a Hong Kong account.

That's most definitely taken but if you act fast you can get slight changes to it. I just tried and as such is still available "SSJ2Vegetto." Feel free to use it as I'm just fine with my PSN: LegendaryDietz
