If there was anything to actually say besides "new game" you'd think ANN would have covered it and then there'd be talk about it in this thread.

Nobody has said anything good about Battle of Z, so this isn't looking to be anything special.

3DS getting UM2 and PS(4)360 gets this.
The company that made it wown't make any games for it so why should they ? plus the system doesn't sell
So it's the beginning of a downfall then, if even DBZ games refuse to go somewhere.

Jesus Christ. Goku vs. Vegeta. And Goku vs. Freeza. And Goku vs. Cell. Again. AGAIN. Fucking Hell, do something new with the license, for the love of all that is holy!

You know what the most interesting DBZ game in the past ten years was? Shin Budokai: Another Road. You know why? Because it was something that, in principle at least, we had never seen before. Yes, the story borrowed heavily from previous material, but the overall situation was brand spankin' new. It wasn't a blatant rehash of the manga for the 15,000th time, and that made it interesting. But nope, we get to start off fighting good old Raditz yet again.

Those fights are iconic in Dragon Ball Z. If they want to sell the game to the fans (new and old) they have to use screenshots that look familiar. Personally, I would prefer a game that covers everything from the begining of DB and not just from Raditz, but what sells is DBZ, and Vegeta, Freeze and Cell are the parts of the show that represent it.

Anyway, I don't get it why everyone is critizicing this, it clearly shows that there is more than just the original story.

Is it a first time that DBZ has a single game that releases on two generation of consoles? PS2's BT3 was for Wii too, but they were about equal specs wise so not much of a difference.

Also, does anyone have the full scan? I see there is something related to DB Heroes Ultimate Mission 2 for the 3DS on the bottom, cut out part.
I will have my hands on the magazine on the 20th so I will post what was in there along with a HQ scan for this game (with translations)

Who's to say? Battle of Z seemingly did well enough for them on Vita if their western branch's recent localization announcements are anything to go by. J-Stars sold above its weight on Vita compared to PS3 in Japan too. Perhaps the decision to forgo a Vita release this time around is due to studio bandwith? Three SKUs is a lot already, which may also explain the lack of a XB1 release. Of course the later could be western exclusive but they did announce a 360 version in Japan, and those push 4000 copies.

I'm surprised they still make the game seeing as less people care by the year.

The visuals look nice in that screenshots that are given but it's just going to be the same thing over again. Why they can't just make something of the Ultimate Storm games I'll never know.

The Naruto games are far better.

I honestly haven't gotten overly excited about a Dragon Ball game since Budokai 1. The only games, besides that one, that I even still pop in every now and then are the Raging Blast games. I really didn't like much of anything about Battle of Z, so as long as it's nothing like that, then it might be able to catch my interest.

I guess this is Battle of Z 2 and will likely see it sometime in early 2016. I doubt we will see it this year since it feels too soon. The last DB game I was excited for was the first RB game and I notice my excitement started to drop around 2007. Show me some gameplay videos and maybe I will care. I still haven't bother with BOZ despite being $40 new at my local Gamestop.

Can someone explain me what's up with the massive Shin Budokai campaign lately? It's been out for ages and 2014 is the first year I see where everyone hypes it.

I hope this game has a good title. Battle of Z sounded so lame, like a fan-made Flash game title, and even these were more fun.

not anymore, they're milked to hell and back.

Storm 1 (and ultimately 2, since it was the first Shippuden Storm and for 360) were the best. Now it feels like a new one releases each week.

Every time I get excited, when I know I shouldn't...
If I had to guess, I'd say Spike is back. It's funny though, because Freeza is giving me some Burst Limit vibes.
Oh well, I suppose this is one of Namco's 'surprises' lined up for the Japan Expo, so I'm guessing we'll see a trailer there.

Brilliant!

All that it's missing is a giant Yen symbol in the middle overlaying the Dragonball :D

And Dragon Ball Z isn't? Storm 3 was still vastly superior to any Dragon Ball Z game that's come out in years if not ever.

The franchise at least has effort put into it. Whereas DBZ recycles the same fights, the same characters and the same story every single year with hardly anything new even though people are clearly sick of it and sales are falling.

This new Storm game they're making has it's own original story with new original cutscenes to go along with it. Kishimoto has also made designs for characters specially for the game. Would they ever do anything like that for a DBZ console game? No they won't.

Truth be told, the Shin Budokai games aren't that great. They're passable. I just brought the sequel up because its new(ish) storyline makes it extremely notable among the never-ending tide of manga rehashes.
