Toriyama came up with idea while listening the F song, thus the movie title.

Both have said they came up with the idea.

Oh my god, that is so gloriously Toriyama. I love everything about it.

Murata nailed it! He already had told Goku vs Freeza was one of his favourite battles:

Did Toriyama just use the traditional paper and ink? If so, that was a little nice change from his typical digital nowadays.

Yeah, the Murata one is probably my favorite. You think these will be translated here soon?

It really does look paper-and-ink to me too. It looks like maybe it was scanned in at a super-high resolution and then colored digitally, but the lineart doesn't look digital.
I could be wrong though; I don't know if there's a way to tell completely.

I really like this one-page comic; I'd like to see more of stuff like this in the future; I'm enjoying those SD designs for Gokû and Vegeta. XD

"Hey, so I heard it's the thirtieth anniversary of Dragon Ball..." Notice how Toriyama says "I heard", as if it had completely passed him back. Yes, what a magnificent bastard.

Can't lie, I'm pretty impatient for them to get to it  Stuff like this is an easy way to my heart, I hope the comments in the actual picture are translated too. Speaking about that link though, it says 10 of the 17 illustrations were reprinted, any idea what happened to the other 7 and who did them?

I wish we could get something like this once a month alongside Super's monthly chapters.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

It's noteworthy how memorable a setting Namek was that Toriyama based that gag comic there.

I really, really need clearer pictures of the Katsura and Watsuki drawings from that book. I am so, so glad they both ended up doing art for it after all. Katsura's was a given (I notice it's in color too, is it kind of the central picture or something?), but Watsuki's was a great surprise.
