Manga : Jaco (with Minus) -> The Kanzenban manga
Anime : Dragon Ball Kai -> Battle of Gods
Others : The final battle between Goku and Vegeta in the DBO timeline, and what happen with the original Z fighters after that.

I love the Kanzenban ending, in both the Buu arc and the epilogue.

I loved Bardock TV special but now comparing Minus with it i'm starting to see problems with it. Giving Bardock a heart and REAL rationality, though strange and too influenced by Super Man story, is better than giving him psychic powers from an enemy and a power level rivaling a King and STILL keeping him a third-class, i mean why? Saiyan babies in incubators has been my headcanon. And though i'm not very fond of Goku not being sent to Earth to destroy it, it's not like Goku would have remembered any order as a newborn baby. Also, Vegeta was more in-character. EoB is just out of the question, LONG before Minus was out.

Z has too much filler that made character go OOC. And I don't like the Tarble Jump special.

I'm not sure about DBO seeing as new Toriyama stuff have been here now, but just the idea of a last fight to the death is just the most awesome thing i could ever expect, and i love the image of the old Z fighters beating bad guys and defend Justice in Great Saiyaman outfits.

"Canon" or "Gospel" simply means "to count officially for the story"

Which Battle of Gods was because they said it was an official part of the history. GT is not which is why it isn't canon. You seem to be confused about what is an official product and what is the official history.

"Official" in general is everything published by a brand owner so your "official" obsession alone does not help in the right context

Which is still not the same thing as being a part of an official history. That's where you're confused. If it was something as simple as that there'd be no point in Toei stating the obvious by attaching the word official to anything.

The first movies are also official and add story but they are in another dimension

Official products that did not take place in the story that Toriyama has come up with AKA the official history. Those movies never happened and that's why they like GT are not canon.

Which is irrelevant because GT never happened and still isn't a part of the official history/canon regardless.

GT was never non-canon it is completely undefined.

It is 100% non canon, I know you have a GT avatar so probably think highly of it so want it to be canon but it still isn't. According to Toriyama the events of GT never took place in his story which is the official story that is canon.

It's not exactly confusing or requires stubbornness to begin with. Their are official products ranging from shows to movies to manga to toys to cards to games. An official history of the story and it's events are a completely different thing. If works exist that take place outside this official history never happened then they aren't canon.

Regardless if you see canon defined as something else it doesn't stop the fact that the other movies or GT never happened where it counts. That's all these talks are ever about.

GT is canon to the anime (for now) and not canon to the manga. Problem solve.

Mine is DBZ/GT anime series, the Tien/King Piccolo/Piccolo jr sagas (everything before that is irrelevant and too cartoony to me), the first 13 movies (what-if timelines), the 3 TV specials and Dragon Ball Minus (only because it reveals Goku's mother). Pretty much anything made post 1997 relating to Dragon Ball isn't canon to me and doesn't exist. Frankly anything after that just feels like an unnecessary add on since the series ended when it ended and making new stuff nearly 20 years later just doesn't go down well with me due to there already being 500 episodes and over a dozen films. I also have my own "Ocean dub" canon which is the first 53 edited episodes and the edited Tree of Might. To me nothing else after or before that happened/exists in that dub's timeline.

For those of you combining Jaco and DBO into your canons, you have some plot holes regarding the whole planet Vegeta scenario (when it was blown up, Goku's age, etc). Not saying you can't fit them together if you'd like, just trying to make you aware that to make it "work", you'll need to do some fan wanking to explain the contradictions.

Change out the TV specials for Minus and the Trunks manga special, and hold DB Online off to the side until we get a more definitive, post BoG/Jaco/FnF update to it/confirmation, and that's me.

I follow the "Toriyama Canon".

Jaco the Galactic Patrolman and Dragon Ball Minus leading into the Dragon Ball manga (with Trunks special built in), with Yo! Son Goku and Friends Return, Battle of Gods, and Revival of F being in the gap before the end of the manga (no GT).

Whether or not he did the art (movies for instance), Toriyama was involved in the creative process of all of this stuff. It works well enough.

I reaaally don't want to give up on all the amazing Online stuffage. Goku and Vegeta leaving earth, Gohan writing a book about ki and Boo being the progenitor to a whole species is just too good to let go.

The only thing I consider 100% canon is the 42 volumes of the manga.

That being said, there are three continuities that I differentiate:

Manga: Jaco, Minus, 42 volumes, Online

Old Anime: DB anime, Father of Goku, Z, Trunks special, GT

New Anime: DB anime, Kai, the new stuff (vaguely anything between the Super anime, Super manga and the movies)
