I can't be certain, but I swear the title for the next episode mentioned something like "Vegeta's Big transformation" (I think it was 'Vegeta no Daihenshin')

First off, the music was great! Anyway, this episode covered the second half of DragonBall Z episode 029 and all of episode 030. For the manga, it covered the rest of chapter 226, chapters 227-229, and the first 6 pages of chapter 230. It followed the manga really well and there was almost no filler left in.

Funny thing, I went to go find the next episode preview, which of course would be for episode 014. Well, to my amazement, Fuji TV has accidentally put up the episode preview for episode 015. I'm sure at some point they'll figure out what they did and put up the one for episode 014, but for now, you can watch the one for episode 015.

Well, "Z" didn't exactly re-use a healthy majority of its animation. Kind of frees up some manpower compared to fully animating a series traditionally.

No complaints at all about this episode. I'm still a little thrown by Yajirobe, but considering I've never really heard his voice in Japanese before Kai (at least I don't think I have?) I think its more of a "my brain hasn't yet associated this voice with this character" sort of thing.

I enjoyed that they tried to make the Vegeta in the eyecatchers look a bit more like his look in the saiyajin arc (the smaller pupils, the different body build) it shows effort. :3

The Gohan-watches-as-Goku-flies-off-with-Vegeta music was so wonderful! Heart-string-tugging. X3

Yeah, I noticed that too. Uranai Baba showed up and everyone started watching the battle on her crystal ball, since the camera men were all wiped out by Nappa. But since almost everything at Kame House is filler, her arrival was cut. However, the scene they left in was in the manga, although you don't see Baba in the manga.
