Happinet update: 8 Blu-ray Boxes, 33 DVDs. 99 episodes?

I feel like I want to get the DVDs just because I've got EVERYTHING else on DVD and if I got Kai on BD and then if they came out with Z on BD, I know I'll want to buy them as well.

If the BR come with extras, however, I'll break down and go that route.

Have we seen any packing for the US yet? It must be different since there's a Z in the name here.

Why couldn't they just use the original Japanese covers? Were they not allowed to use those images?

They would have to add the 'Z' to the covers but compared to other releases, the kai boxes look SO bland and lacklustery.

Unfortunately, all indications point to it being the actual box art they're going with. It's just so... white, and blah. I know the Japanese aren't exactly masterpieces either, but they fill the empty spaces pretty well, even if it's only with a pleasantly calming blue.

Well it would look much better if they made the orange part blue on the Blu-Ray set and the other one just orange.

The orange and the blue together just look weird to me...

That's inevitable. They've already announced that's what they're doing with One Piece, so I'd imagine it'd be the same with (Z) Kai. Oh well...

Yeah, didn't FMA just get it's 3rd release? 4th if you count the represses of the singles?

I have to agree with you, and think that's a really spot-on assumption. They definitely fall in-line with the episodes that will be on those box sets.

Well, didn't Navarre spill the beans on this in a meeting about the new quarter? I suppose they had to throw something together because they hadn't planned on anouncing this so early.

The new quarter meeting happened in January. They'd been dubbing since November. They've likely been working out the details on how they'd want to do a release long before that.
