How many of you own the entire series?

Post by Shiyonasan » Thu Feb 04, 2010 9:12 pm

Original or dub will count.

I'm far from owning all of it, but I'm getting there. All I have is:

Dragon Ball
~Episodes 1-61 (Dragon Ball Seasons 1 & 2), 84-101 (T i e n Shinhan Saga Set)
~Movies 2-4 (Dragon Ball Movie Box Set)

Dragon Ball Z
~Episodes 1-42 (Funi Dragon Box, Season 1 {orange brick}, and Ultimate Uncut volumes 1-7)
~Movies 1-3, 5-13 (Funi individual DVDs)
~TV specials 1 & 2

Dragon Ball GT
~Episodes 1-47 (Season 1, Lost Episodes, and Volumes 6- 10 Box Set)
~TV special

I'm planning on getting the rest of the Dragon Boxes as well as the last three DB Season Sets and GT Season 2. I'm holding off on Kai until I get the rest of the series.

I don't all even a quarter of it. I really want to buy all 5 DragonBoxes and watch a disc each day. I promise myself, I will own everything.

I do, and then some (I cringed a little making this list)

Dragon Ball

-Episodes 1-153 (Madman two disc releases)
-DB Movie 1 (Dragonbox single)
-DB Movies 2-4 (Dragonball Movie Box Set)

Dragon Ball Z

-Episodes 1-21 (Ultimate Uncut)
-Episodes 1-74 (Orange Brick)
-Episodes 1-42 (FUNimation Dragon Box)
-Episodes 37-72 (Dragon Box Singles)
-Episodes 68-291 (FUNimation Singles)
-Movies 1-3 (FUNimation/Pioneer)
-Movies 1-13 (FUNimation Singles, FUNimation Blu Ray)
-TV specials 1&2 (FUNimation Singles, FUNimation Blu Ray)

Dragon Ball GT

-Episodes 1-64 (FUNimation Singles)
-TV Special (FUNimation Single)

So with some quick math, my DB dvd collection is...173 discs  . Which is of course only going to go up with the Dboxes and Kai...

I have all R2 DBox singles of DB & DBZ, Dragon Box the Movies, the orange bricks, and some of the original FUNI singles. Haven't touched GT. Hesitant about getting Kai...

A lot of that exists on my harddrive and I'll watch some eps every once in a while (or put more eps onto the hdd with subtitles from the orange bricks)

I own all of Z, GT, and the Z movies. Even double-dipping into some of Z. I only own a scattered few chunks of DB; the first Season Set, the FUNi movie box, and one random VHS I stumbled across in ACME.
Dragon Ball ended in 1997.

But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

I think Tom Dubois of "The Boondocks" said it best for me when FUNimation announced the release of the domestic Dragonbox, after buying all of the Season Sets: "MOTHERFUCK!!! SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT, PRICKS, SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIIIIIIIT!"

DragonBall
All "Saga" DVD sets, including Madman Saga of Goku w/edited Movie 1
Edited Saga of Goku
Movies 2-4 (2 copies of 3 and 4 because I bought the trilogy box set for movie 2)
Blue Box Season Sets 1-3

DragonBall Z
Edited Episodes 1-53
Uncut Singles 53-278 (aka 65-291)
Ultimate Uncut Edition Episodes 1-27
Orange Brick "Season Sets" 1-9
Dragon Box 1-2
Movies 1-3 Original Dub
Movies 1-13 Funimation Singles
Movies 1-13 Double Feature Releases
TV Specials 1 & 2 - Singles & Double Feature

DragonBall GT
Singles 1-20 (episodes 1-64)
TV Special Single
Green Box Season Sets

Yeah, in sum, I own the entire series. Depending on your perspective, the trilogy still never got a consistent release. The Blue-Orange-Green Brick sets aren't consistent because the Orange bricks are cropped, whereas the other two are not (plus, the Blue Bricks won't finish until September). The singles never included the uncut Namek Saga or the uncut ending of the Saiyan Saga. The Dragon Box isn't finished releasing yet, and even when it is, it will, for the moment, only include "Z." That means that GT is the only series that anyone can own more than one copy of each episode of consistently, and no one has a single consistent version of the series that would allow him or her to watch the same thing from the same line of products from episode 1-508 (in America).

Yikes, owning all of DB or DBZ is a frightening prospect for me. DBZ is 291 episodes! I don't know if I have enough room in my room for that and the rest of my anime collection. Makes me wonder if I'll be collecting all the Dragon Boxes.

Legally no, but I do have every episode, tv special, and manga scans downloaded onto my computer somewhere. Does that count? Don't you look at me with your judgmental eyes.

In manga form, yes. I own the whole set of Viz graphic novels (some in the old bigger format because I bought as they were first putting the out) and all the kanzenban (which took me years, but I have them; hooray!).

In anime form?.......*looks away*. >_>
No. Not at all. Infact aside from my Funi Dragon Box 1, it's all one big mess.

I own the Pioneer movies 1-3 boxset, Funi's 1-3 boxset, their DB not Z movie boxset....
-Movies 8, 9, 10, 12, and 13.
-Both halves of the Piccolo Jr DB arc
-Several Ocean dub discs
-Several UUE's
-A bundle of old Funi singles ranging from Freeza to the end of the series
-The Bardock Special

I'm just not a big dvd buyer in general, regardless of if it's anime or live action. I haven't even finished my DBox yet because setting time aside to watch dvds just doesn't work out so well with me compared to setting time aside to pull out a book to read. I dunno. ^^;

I would like to get the rest of the Funi DBoxes though eventually.

This should be fun:

VHS:

ALL of Z minus the Cell Games
ALL of GT minus the Lost Episodes

DVD:

DRAGONBALL

Dragonball Double disk sets minus 3 of them [red ribbon, tournemant, and one of the king piccolos]
the 3 pack DB movies [slim cases]
Brick sets 1, 2, and 3

DRAGONBALL Z

Pioneer's first 2 season boxsets
Every single 'Single' released by Funi including both versions on the second Trunks saga DVD with every casing they came out with
Both 'ultimate uncut' box sets that were released in the US
ALL 9 orange brick sets
DragonBox 1 and preordered the 2nd.

DRAGONBALL GT

ALL 4 season box sets
Both Green brick sets

MOVIES

ALL 3 Dragonball movies including the one in the 'first 13 episodes' 2 dvd box
ALL 7 steel case double features
ALL 13 single movies with Box casing for the first 3 and 2nd 3 movies
the first strike dvds for the 1st 3 movies
The Broly Triple threat 3 dvd slimcase pack
Both TV specials
GT Tv special

BLURAY

The special DBZ movie 1 bluray that came witrh Burst Limit.

ANd yes.....apparently I AM Funimations piggy bank since thats pretty much every single thing they have released aside from the Trunks and Bardock singles release on the cancelled line of movies.

Someone please tell me you have more than that?

Let's see...

Dragon Ball
Episodes 1-96 (Japanese Dragon Box singles)
Episodes 84-153 (FUNimation two-disc sets)
Movie 1 (Japanese Dragon Box single)
Movies 2-4 (FUNimation box set)

(I'm gradually replacing my FUNi sets with the Japanese singles, if it's not obvious.)

Dragon Ball Z
Episodes 1-84 (FUNimation Dragon Boxes)
TV Special 1-2 (FUNimation 4:3 singles)
Movies 1-13 (FUNimation 4:3 singles)

Dragon Ball GT
Episodes 1-64 (FUNimation singles)
TV Special (FUNimation single)

If we're including the manga, then that's easy. I just have all 42 Japanese tankoubon.

Hmmm....

Dragonball
The "3 Movie Boxset" with the 3 DB Movies released my Funi.

I'm not going to buy any of the DB Remastered sets until I'm done with the DBZ Dragonboxes. One series at a time here, people! :P

Dragonball Z
Volume 1 of the Dragonbox
Volume 2 is on pre-order, so I technically own it
Seasons 1-3 of the remastered sets
Seasons 6-9 of the remastered sets
The "Android", "Imperfect Cell", "Perfect Cell", "Cell Games", and "Kid Buu" saga DVD box sets from Funi (The ones with the cheep-feeling covers)
About 20-30 VHSs, It's half what I own on DVD, and half what I still need on DVD
The "First Strike" DVD boxset from Funi (Movies 1, 2, 3)
Movies 5, 7, 8, 10, 12, 13 DVD

Dragonball GT
Volumes 1-15 of the single disc releases, (Don't own the "Lost Episodes" on any format, no single, vhs, or remastered, as of yet)
"A Hero's Legacy" TV Special DVD
Next quest: Start collecting Dragon Ball Super Blu-Rays whenever season sets get released. Also the Super Manga!

Fan of Dragon Ball Z and various other Anime since '98! ^^

I just own the first two volumes of the DragonBox, so that's episodes 1 - 83. Apart from that I'm fine with waiting for Dragonball Box, DragonBox GT, and DragonBox: The Movies. The movies would be the only part of the series I would ever have to replace because I picked up all of the singles years ago back when there was just good ol' regular DVD.

Manga-wise I've owned the entire series for a while now.
