The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

The original anime adaptation of the Dr. Slump manga was broadcast in the early 1980s (mid-1981 to early-1986) and was entitled Dr. Slump - Arale-chan, spanning a total of 243 episodes. The series preceded DragonBall, and Toriyama would eventually have some of its characters make a cameo in the DragonBall manga in chapters 81 to 83 (and subsequently in the anime). Following DragonBall GT, a new anime adaptation of the Dr. Slump manga was created, entitled Doctor Slump. This new series ran from late-1997 to mid-1999 and spanned 74 episodes. It was this 90s adaptation of the series that Goku appeared in, which is where the video clip you posted is from.

If only if someone would release Dr Slump 80's ( That's how I call it :P ) on home video. That would be so awesome. Well, at least we have the mangas from Viz, I guess.

I have first printings of volumes one and two. Two examples I can think of are penises getting erased, and an African stereotype being changed to a demon-type thing. They also changed beer to super punch and said it makes your boobs grow.

That one girl told Arale that because she didn't know what alcohol was.

It was sake anyway, not beer. The Japanese give a sweet version of it to children to drink on special occasions, but the Japanese have a strict drinking law that is akin to the US laws. It wasn't censored, although the joke was changed from what it is in the original.

Well, I knew it was some sort of alcohol, I just couldn't remember exactly.

Dr. Slump predates Dragon Ball. It didn't exist at that time. :P

But if you want Dragon Ball episodes with Dr. Slump in it, they are episodes 55-57 and the third movie Mystical Adventure.

The New Dr. Slump show (1990s remake) did get some Dragon Ball references and I think Goku fought Blue and Murasaki, as well as the clip you have.
