Re: Episode #0492 (03 April 2022)
Happy Anniversary, Kanzenshuu! I was looking at my passport today, and it turns out, this week is also the tenth anniversary of my first trip to Japan. It's crazy to think I was still in high school when Kanzenshuu started. Is it insane that I remembered a lot of the stories you guys mentioned in the episode from back when you originally reported on them? I too was at NYCC when Nozawa was a guest. I wish I hadn't rushed to the theater earlier in the day to get a good seat for the Broly panel; I might have had a chance to meet her too and practice my broken Japanese! When she was being escorted back to her van outside the venue, a few fans were lined up to try and meet her. Her staff told us she was tired and couldn't sign anything, but I was able to scream out extremely nervously, "Nozawa-san, arigato~!" and I think she heard me. Does that count?
In all seriousness, thank you guys for all that you do for DB. If I hadn't stumbled upon your site back in 2008, I probably wouldn't have made the switch to the Japanese version of the show permanently, and I probably wouldn't be typing this message from my desk at a middle school in Aichi right now. I remember chatting with you guys after a panel at CastlePoint, and Julian even gave me some great advice about starting out in Japan. Your impact on the fandom goes beyond just fandom. So, here's to another ten years!
