I was just thinking that the Buu Arc seems to be "the odd one" of DBZ. Opinions on it are split, and I was wondering if it wouldn't have worked better if it had been the beginning of a new anime series, rather than the ending of DBZ. It's tonally quite different from the Saiyan, Freeza, and Cell ...

We've had threads on how people would've changed the Cell and Buu Arcs, so here's one for people's ideas about an alternate Saiyan or Freeza Arc. I'm lumping them together because they're sort of one big long story. Anyway, my ideas:

Saiyan Arc:
-Yamcha, Puar, Oolong, Tenshinhan, Chaotzu, and ...

I'm disappointed that there were never any episodes where Goku met up with Grandpa Gohan in the Other World in DBZ. Especially when Goku decides to stay in Other World after the Cell Saga. I also wished we had seen Nappa and/or Raditz in Hell, but I guess they weren't as memorable as Freeza, the ...

If I was only allowed to change the Buu Saga and nothing from earlier in the anime/manga, here's what I would change:

-I'd make Piccolo more powerful. I would make him stronger than Supreme Kai, and strong enough to fight Dabura. Dabura would also be weaker than Perfect Cell was, and about even ...

You know what I just realized? After the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai, the very next time that Tenshinhan, Chaotzu, or Yamcha ever see Goku is when he gets back from Planet Namek. -Overall, I'd just make it so that none of the jinzoningen are as strong as Freeza or a Super Saiyan, but Cell is specially designed with Freeza's and the Saiyan's DNA, along with Piccolo's, so it makes sense that he'd be so freakishly strong.

If I could only make changes in the Cell Arc, here's what I'd do:

-Don't bring back Freeza or introduce King Cold. Freeza died on Planet Namek and had no family.
