Re: Akira Toriyama Passes Away.
Here to pay my respects, though I don't feel like my brain has done it's job and made it real yet. Thanks for giving so much, Toriyama. Your work touched and changed me more than even I'll probably ever know. It's shocking that your time here was cut so short, but you did an unthinkable amount with ...

Re: Is The Manga Too Long?
I think considering the amount of content that gets covered in each chapter, yeah it's way too long. Toriyama's chapters flew by because he utilised the medium so damn well, so it's more like the Super manga is more inefficient than it is too long, though maybe it's one in the same. A lot of the fig...

Re: A new Budokai Tenkaichi has been announced
Generally as for the title of the game there is some probability that the title will be Super instead of Z. After all Goku in the trailer transforms into ssj in DBZ:TB3 then we have the transition from TB3 to Goku transforming into ssj Blue who is the hallmark of the super series in "TB4"...

Re: A new Budokai Tenkaichi has been announced
Is it me or does the Goku model look like Dimps work? https://preview.redd.it/ws190gco77ma1.jpg?width=1465&format=pjpg&auto=webp&v=enabled&s=c4cb4321d16288b622d81dfa6d630696c88cc6ce Looks a little too round, similar to Spike's Raging Blast models. Dimps' Dragon Ball models seemed to...

Re: A new Budokai Tenkaichi has been announced
Hopefully Dimps will announce Budokai 4 so I can start posting endlessly on here about how the Tenkaichi games aren't as good, y'know, really relive my childhood!
For real though, cool to see it come back.

Re: I owe an apology to this composer......
I feel like I'm one of the very few who enjoyed his music in Kai The Final Chapters. I liked it cause it really reminded me of the Yamamoto scores of the early 90s (ironically, considering the whole ordeal). Really just sounded like something you'd hear on an arrange album of a Butouden game, or a ...

Re: Dragon Ball Z Taiketsu - The Worst Fighting Game by Matt McMuscles
As a kid it absolutely boggled my brain that Taiketsu and Supersonic Warriors were on the same system. Being older and a bit more familiar with games development makes it clear as day but I still remember the laughs me and my friend got from playing this game and pretending it was the hypest shit ev...

Re: 20 years ago today Dragon Ball GT premiered in the UK and Ireland
No matter what anybody says about the Blue Water dub of GT, at least you didn't get the replacement score that we got in the US. While the main theme was kinda catchy (despite the "rap"), the repetitiveness, the instruments, and the overall dark, depressing feel of that monotnous score ma...

I have incredibly fond memories of both Blue Water dubs, watching them as they aired was a real treat. Zoe Slusar is still the voice I hear in my head when thinking about an English kid Goku!

Re: Who else likes Chi-Chi more than Bulma?
I certainly liked Chi-Chi a lot more after reading the manga and realising so much of what I didn't like seemed to be Z anime-exclusive. As a character I prefer Bulma (more meat on the bones), but if we're doing a hypothetical 'who would you like' type thing, I still think Bulma comes out looking go...

Re: Should the anime come back?
Since Battle of Gods I've been saying, "If they just gave us a movie every year or three I'd be content." In fact I think I've had a similar line of thinking ever since Yo! Son Goku and His Friends Return. Just give me a fun little peek into their world once in awhile to see how they're d...

Re: I just watched the ending of GT (Japanese version) and it was one of the most depressing things I’ve ever seen
I’d say people who didn’t connect with GT’s ending is not due to lack of intake of sad stories but just the opposite, since obviously the more you experience of something, the more you kinda unwillingly refine your standards, or said thing becomes less impressive to you as opposed to other people. ...

Re: I just watched the ending of GT (Japanese version) and it was one of the most depressing things I’ve ever seen
GT's ending is honestly too good for GT, but I'm really glad it exists anyway, it really made me feel happy to know the series I loved got such a mature and well creafted send-off. I love it because it really fits in with that feeling of progression the series always had. It also really plays up Gok...

Re: Opinions on the Ocean dub of movies 1-3?
Best example of English Dragon Ball, really. Acting is totally on-point, scripts are great, best English Goku, used the original BGM way before it became the standard. Really set the bar for me in terms of how to judge future English dubs of the show and none of them have really met that standard si...

Re: Are you done with Dragon Ball?
I think so, yeah. At least when it comes to being a full-on consumer of the material. I'll drop by for the movies and peer over the wall every now and then to see what's going on in the manga. Maybe if a new big game comes out that cover arcs I really enjoy, I'll grab it on sale or something. But in...

Re: Why isn't Dragonball classified as a sci-fi anime series?
When your main character is an alien who travels to outer space and battles other aliens then you've crossed over into science fiction. It's not the primary genre, no, but it becomes an additional genre for the series. This was not the case pre-Z however. I mean, pre-'Z' had robots, it had dragon r...
