Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
Yeah, some multiverse movies have done well recently, others haven't. Some superhero movies have done well recently, others haven't. I just don't think this is the specific deciding factor, as comforting as it might be to believe that one's own sentiment is being shared by general audiences. It's g...

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
Far fewer people were aware of Miller's issues than you assume. It was expensive, it didn't have a good story, and it was in a franchise that few if any cared about. Then there's the empty fanservice bringing back Keaton. With DB it would be even worse because Evolution doesn't have many if any fan...

Re: Toyotarou Is creatively bankrupt
I remember another YouTuber who considered the Moro arc the best in DBS but you can probably completely opposite opinions for every arc. My opinion doesn't matter much. I personally enjoyed the Moro arc more than the ToP and Goku Black arcs overall. I can reread most of the Moro arc while only rewat...

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness should NOT have been what Deadpool might end up being. I've grown tired of multiverses. They're boring and little more than masturbatory exercises in fanservice. Deadpool is the perfect character to lampoon them and say, this is really dumb. Considering the ...

Re: The idea of Redeeming Nappa. How do you feel about this?
I think Raditz and Nappa were slightly less evil than Vegeta at the time. At least they had some camaraderie since Nappa initially assumed they were going to resurrect Raditz with the DBs and surprised when Vegeta betrayed him. It's similar to Bardock who cared about his team but not any of the inno...

Re: Reasons you want the weekly anime back.
Tbh blaming the pandemic sounded more like an excuse to cover their predictions being wrong. There were several movies and shows delayed due to pandemic and have released since then including other series from Toei. The ones that are still delayed have at least official confirmation that they exist.

Re: Why so much hate towards Toei Animation
I still like Toei for giving us Dragon Ball and many other great anime. They did acknowledge they messed up before based on a comment shared by Ajay. It seems like they've learned from it since they have fewer ongoing projects at once. Toei Animation: They hate us cuz they ain't us. That's an intere...

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
I think both forms were meant to parody forms Toriyama has seen before or a self-parody. If you show someone those transformations, their initial reaction is unlikely to be that Toriyama designed them based on previous experience with the series. Orange Piccolo looks like it was inspired by the movi...

Re: What colour would you like the next SSJ transformation to have?
Things could always change but UI, UE, Beast, Orange Piccolo, and whatever they have planned for Broly is most likely the endgame for now. Despite the manga showing UI isn't perfect, UI seems to be Goku's last resort and his "Avatar" state. It hasn't even appeared in an anime film yet as ...

Re: What colour would you like the next SSJ transformation to have?
Except Dragon Ball is never going to go away forever. We might get a break for a little while but that has clearly not lasted for long, as evidenced by the fact that Dragon Ball suddenly returned after fifteen years to give Gokuu a new form, then a new form two years after that. Well you could say ...

Re: What colour would you like the next SSJ transformation to have?
The concept of there one day being a 'final official transformation' is a bit of a false premise, though? The license holders will continue to pump out new transformations for the sake of profit and even outside of the realm of copyright there's no stopping unofficial works from continuing to produ...

Re: What colour would you like the next SSJ transformation to have?
I hate to keep asking "who gives a shit", but...who gives a shit if new official forms 'look like deviantArt drawings'? Don't look at deviantArt. Don't look at fan art. Hell, do look at fan art and just don't care if the official forms might look similar. What bad thing is actually going ...

Re: What colour would you like the next SSJ transformation to have?
There are too many transformations as is. I was able to tolerate them up to Ultra Instinct, but Ultra Ego, Orange Piccolo and Beast Gohan are just too much, and look very silly. They look like those DeviantArt drawings you’d see back in the day. That's what makes them a subversion of expectations b...

Re: What colour would you like the next SSJ transformation to have?
Green is already taken by Broly. I think the only color left is orange but that would look too similar to the yellow/gold for SSJ1-3 so it might be why it went to Piccolo. To be honest, the biggest surprise would be something like Saiyan Beyond God and absorbing all their power into base since most ...

Re: How can we get to see Pan and Bra grow up without aging the cast too much?
He at least designed Pan for GT. https://www.kanzenshuu.com/animation-production/toriyama-contributions/ So, I dunno, kinda feels like that is what Toriyama intended? I assumed that's how Toriyama envisioned the cast would look like post-EoZ (aside from Goku being a kid). Recently he said he gave V...

Re: Why exactly is everyone saying that GT has good ideas all the time?
I thought it was interesting that Toriyama had Dende deactivate the DBs in Online (assuming he wrote that part). It had the same outcome as the Shadow Dragons and they could no longer rely on the DBs. Shadow Dragon saga ended with Shenron granting one final wish to fix the damage caused during that ...

Hmm it seems it was deleted in English for some reason. I'll check if there's another English version out there. It's still available in Spanish on that site:

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Box Office Thread
I still think the Slam Dunk movie isn't a fair comparison because it's not a new movie it's just adapting the last arc of the manga. Slam Dunk is in the top 10 best selling manga of all time and due to a series of complicated circumstances, including some copyright stuff, that last arc never got an...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Box Office Thread
Slam Dunk new movie grossed 232 million as of now and suzume gross passed 300 million. DB is really falling behind (movie wise). Yeah it was pretty impressive that grossed more than Broly and SH combined! I guess there isn't as much demand for DB. It's still successful but only above average for an...
