Re: Are you done with Dragon Ball?
Never. I take breaks here and there from the series but I would never get tired of it. I've been a fan of the DB series since 2000 when I was 8. I practically grew up on this series lol.
The longest break I've took from watching the series was from 06 to 2010 but even during those times I was still ...

Holy father of Dende... After the Tarble OVA and the Bardock OVA , we are "finally" (!?) here! How can it be? I remember vividly when I went to check this movie in theaters, and now you're telling me it has been ten years already!? Did I oversleep at some point?

Honestly that ship has sailed over a decade ago. YTV nowadays in my opinion is dead. I don't think they even air any anime shows anymore. I honestly the bionix days lol

Also, I was honestly satisfied with the redub of Season 1 and 2.
I will clarify I was fine with the redub of season 1 and 2 too. The Funimation cast had enough experience by this point they all did a perfectly passable job. Funimation also made a genuine effort to cut back on a lot of the ...

Re: A very important 15-year anniversary just passed (and your opinion on it)
Back in 07 I lost interest in the DB series after being a big fan of it for about 7 years. I think it was a blessing because I certainly would have bought these sets back then lol. It wasn't until 2010-2011 when I became a fan of the series again but unfortunately I missed out on the Dragon Boxes

Re: Walmart Exclusive Dragon Ball Z Bluray sets *Confirmed to be the 2013 cropped discs*
I don't get it, why is FUNimation re-releasing DBZ in widescreen when they've literally re-released it a year ago in 4:3 smh.
I'm so glad that I grabbed the steelbooks as they were being released last year. Those sets are pretty much the best way to watch the show at this point.
Hopefully they ...

Re: Will we ever get a good home release of Dragon Ball Z in the States ever again?
I gave up years ago. The 30th anniversary edition and the steelbooks that they released last year was their last chance and they blew it.
I ended up just buying the steelbooks because it was the only way for me to own the series in 4:3.

Re: DBZ Remastered Dub
It definitely still exists, and in fact, this was the original pitch and plan for the Rock the Dragon set. It would have been a generally-available DVD release covering the entire original broadcast dub; Ocean 1-53, Funimation 54-276, all as-aired on their first run.
It strikes me as odd that ...

Let's listen to the FUNi and Ocean actors as they were originally cast, way back in the 90s as it would've been presented on TV:

Re: Is Dragon Ball Z Funimation's Worst English Dub?
It's a popular talking point on this forum to point out how controversial the 1999 Funimation in house English dub of Dragon Ball Z is amongst Kanzenshuu regulars.
However that got me thinking, to you dub aficionados out there, has Funimation produced a dub that is equal to or worse than their ...

Re: DBZ Remastered Dub
People really don't give it enough credit.
It sounds almost like Kai in terms of VA work, especially the Ginyu Saga.
Now, of course, there are weak links (Linda Young's Frieza and Goku, since the majority of their voice work is from the 1999 OG dub), but it holds up well.
What do ya'll ...
