This was a REALLY fast episode. ALL of the Hercule/Dende stuff, Videl/Dabura, Otherworld, and even most of the Old Kai filler was cut. Why now?

On a rewatch of Z Kai, I noticed that many characters do not interact, or see each other for the majority of the series.
For example, Goku does not see Tien or Yamcha ALIVE from the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai Tournament until he returns back from Yardrat!
Anyone have any other examples?

Didn't watch it (98), but my brother tells me the entire segment of the old man trying to avenge his son was removed. It cut from 18 angrily shooting energy blasts at background, to Trunks on ground ready to strike.

Its cool. Was having a bad day. Solid facts though.
