Re: SSJ God was supposed to be “a being that surpasses everything”

Personally, I just think it’s odd how Super Saiyan God is now treated as another transformation that can easily be accessed. When the form was first used in the movie, I was led to believe that it was just a temporary thing that Goku no longer needed beyond the initial ritual. At least, that was the...

Re: Which games are the most "shovelware?"

I don’t see how the first Budokai game qualifies as “shovelware.” It was the first in a new era of Dragon Ball games, and in that sense, it delivered on what people were expecting at the time. This is most apparent with its story mode, which, while hardly impressive today, was clearly something that...

Re: GT continuation

But Freeza isn’t a cyborg when he’s in Hell in that filler scene. He shouldn't have his body AT ALL in the manga, though. He shouldn't even EXIST; his body should have been left in the mortal realm, on earth, and his soul should have been cleansed and reincarnated. And this isn't a minor thing, eit...

Re: GT continuation

The one hell Freeza is in is entirely compatible with Kai's version; the Ogres could have easily put him there for whatever reason. But Freeza isn’t a cyborg when he’s in Hell in that filler scene. But Freeza isn’t a cyborg when he’s in Hell in that filler scene. Plus, he shouldn’t be aware that Goku fought Majin Boo.

Re: GT continuation

It definitely could not have happened in the Minus timeline. Goku’s revised backstory establishes that he was sent to Earth as a toddler by his parents to keep him safe. That conflicts with the Bardock special, where it was shown that he was sent to Earth as an infant specifically to conquer it. If...

Super doesn’t really work as a follow up to Kai.
How so? Outside of Yamcha playing baseball again I haven't heard of any major classic Z stuff that wasn't already in Kai.
As I said, the Bardock special and the scene where all those villains are in Toei’s Hell just don’t work with Super.

Re: GT continuation

The Bardock special is canon as far as Kai is concerned Only in one scene at the very beginning, which could easily have happened in the timeline established by the Broly movie. as is that filler version of Hell that Toei came up with back in the day. That filler version of hell is in both Kai and ...

Re: GT continuation

Even Super doesn’t necessarily follow the manga continuity to a T. According to the anime, stuff like Ginyu swapping bodies with Bulma apparently still happened, while the manga has Goku mention Mt. Paozu, which is a Toei invention. Well here we get into my weird "continuity families" idea to do wo...

Re: Which games are the most "shovelware?"

It felt like most the games from Raging Blast to Battle of Z were really. Bargain bin level so so games. I wouldn’t really classify the Raging Blast games as “bargain bin.” They’re not exactly great, but they do at least try to improve on the Tenkaichi/Sparking games in some respects, namely by giv...

Re: Minority representation for minority characters in Voice acting

A lot of actors are openly LGBTQIA+ and these things do get around show business. It's not like crew are lost at sea. The resources are there, it's part of why trans actors being passed up for cis actors drives us crazy. First you ignore us, then you cast some rich, White cis motherfucker as the sa...

Re: Best Dragon Ball Z game for PS4

Just so we’re clear, both Xenoverse games were released on the PS4. The first one was also released on the PS3, though.

Anyway, FighterZ, hands down.

Re: Minority representation for minority characters in Voice acting

I guess I’ll mention as a side note that the voice actress for She-Ra in the recent reboot is married to a man, even though that version of the character is gay. The showrunner is a lesbian, though.

I don’t see why Neil Patrick Harris would need to apologize for something he didn’t even write.

Re: Minority representation for minority characters in Voice acting

How does one even go about concluding what an actor’s sexuality is, unless they explicitly say so? "Hey [name], this is a role for a cisgender woman-loving-woman, are you a woman-loving-woman?" "Nope [name], I'm straight as a fiddle!" "Oof, yeah, sorry [name], reads a bit insulting to cast a cishet...

Re: Minority representation for minority characters in Voice acting

I’m not talking about bigots. I’m talking about potential allies. When fighting for any cause, it’s important to avoid leaving a bad impression to the people who are undecided on the matter. Alienating people from any given cause is never a good idea. What's the compromise between people who think ...

Re: Minority representation for minority characters in Voice acting

At this point, I think I feel comfortable in saying that people like Hank Azaria and Mike Henry shouldn’t have stepped down from their roles. Not only do I seriously doubt that many people still care about The Simpsons or Family Guy , but those guys had already been voicing their respective charact...
