Re: All in all, are you happy the revival happened?

it basically has the same ingredients as the original series. Same ingredients, but not put together by chef(s) as good as before. I does bug me that we can't leave stories alone and wonder if time couldn't be better spent by everyone, both fans and creators alike on something else. Instead of find...

Re: All in all, are you happy the revival happened?

I agree. The ending of the TOP arc felt rushed as well. Maybe it was less bothersome there because it had been dragging on and there wasn't much of a story going on. The TOP arc ultimately got so long (and there was some rather questionable filler in between the Zamasu and TOP arc), it's sad they d...

Re: All in all, are you happy the revival happened?

Plus, that means you don't suffer through the utterly abysmal ending. Though realistically, to properly judge the arc, you do need to take it as a whole. Skipping over the parts that make it shit means that you're not really watching the arc, it's almost like you're watching a fanedit. Which ties i...

Re: Would Level Sets be more sucessfull if Funimation wait more?

Okay, I’ve said this before, but I think you guys are severely overstating how much people still care about the FUNimation dub. From what I’ve seen, more and more people these days are actually fine with the Japanese version. Many people who previously had a preference for the dub have become accust...

Re: Would Level Sets be more sucessfull if Funimation wait more?

How well did the Blu-ray season sets do? Very well. Not Orange Brick levels(Still the best selling by far...still in stores over 10 years later), but the season Blu rays have been very successful for them. I see. In that case, the level sets probably would’ve done noticeably better if FUNimation ha...

Re: Why does the Garlic Jr. filler arc exist?

I think people get caught up way too much in the plot mechanics and "logic" rather than the characters and their arcs. Garlic Jr. is already vastly stronger than we first met him because he's closer to a planet. Piccolo is also way stronger after having fused with Nail. Having the Makyo Star make G...

Re: All in all, are you happy the revival happened?

In fairness, Super's overall tone is quite laid-back; even at its darkest moments, there's a sense that things tend to work out. Super very much always heads to a reset state, and we all already know how the story ends, so... It's just not as much of a tense show, I think, is what wolflonnie's prob...

Re: PlayStation 5 and the future of DBZ games..

I don’t think they should even bother with a XV3. Where else is there to take that series? Anywhere. Or to somewhere that has not been actually covered (completely) yet. I wouldn't think it's a stretch to think someone at Dimps is part of that "Dragon Ball Room". So even if they somehow manages to ...

We will probably get XV3 on both the PS4 and PS5.

Re: All in all, are you happy the revival happened?

I wouldn’t describe the Future Trunks arc or the Tournament of Power arc as “laidback” or “fun-loving”. They were both fairly depressing for Dragon Ball. Sure, the anime version of Super did have some pretty lighthearted filler and slice of life episodes, but they don’t change the fact that somethin...

Re: What specifically was wrong with Vic Mignogna’s take on Broly?

It's been nearly 20 years, and you've never seen this in this form? I'm probably going to give you an aneurysm saying this, but this is unironically one of the most iconic scenes in all of Dragon Ball Z... In America, I mean. If you ask an American fan to point out one of Dragon Ball Z's biggest an...

As far as the prologue in Broly is concerned, the stuff involving Broly and Paragus were pretty vital to the story.

Re: All in all, are you happy the revival happened?

It's a shame they don't. I think everyone assumes the next big thing won't come along so they have to trot out the carcass of the old hotness, but the next big thing always comes around. There are a few franchises that have stayed dead - Jaws and Back to the Future. In the case of Back to the Futur...

Re: All in all, are you happy the revival happened?

Well, I'm not unhappy. But it became quite clear that Super was not the series for me. I rather watch GT, and at this point am hoping that Jaco The Galactic Patrolman gets its own OVA or series, or The Time I got reincarnated as Yamcha gets an OVA or a fleshed out series. Otherwise I'm neutral and ...

Re: What specifically was wrong with Vic Mignogna’s take on Broly?

Frankly, I've never been impressed with Mignogna in anything, maybe except Bubsy. That grating, nasal voice of his fit that annoying character perfectly. And as Edward Elric, well, I already posted a clip comparing both Japanese and English versions of two scenes of FMA 2003, and he just made Edwar...

Re: All in all, are you happy the revival happened?

Meh. I’d put Rogue One on the same level of something like Ressurection ‘F’ . To me, they’re both shallow fan service movies that seem like they were made for a quick buck. I don’t think either of them added anything new or interesting to the franchise. They both basically just strike me as “Member...

Re: All in all, are you happy the revival happened?

No. I wish it hadn't happened. At worst, the material has been either painfully boring or actively harmful to the overall narrative. At BEST, it's an inoffensive diversion. That's not to say there haven't been things I have liked (BoG, Yamcha manga, Jaco). But at no point has it ever caused me to g...

Re: All in all, are you happy the revival happened?

The new revival also seems to have helped the games get out of a bit of a rut as well. For years, we were stuck with games that just re-hashed the same old storylines again and again and again, but now we're starting to see a bit more of creativity get out there, from Xenoverse looooooooooooooooooo...

All in all, are you happy the revival happened?

The general consensus from every other part of the Internet seems to be that stuff like Super is great and that there’s no better time to be a Dragon Ball fan. With that said, I can’t quite get as good a handle on this website’s overall stance on the post-revival era of Dragon Ball. Do people genera...
