Re: Did parts 1-4 on dvd and blu ray got reprints with the replacement score?

Yes, they did receive reprints with the new score briefly before the season sets came out. In fact, I made a video about it. :D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gzs1BB89jiU That's part 4. What about parts 1-3? Sorry, I didn't buy extra copies of those just to confirm it for you, but they did receive...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" Dub Turns 10; Still Unreleased

Do we actually know how many episodes of DBKAI Ocean dubbed, was it a few, did they do the entire thing, did they also do the final chapters? It's honestly pretty weird since there's no bad in releasing it right now. The first 98 episodes are in the books. TFC we have to assume wasn't dubbed but it...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" Dub Turns 10; Still Unreleased

Whatever the case, I will reserve judgement until the day we finally see this air. A goofy-sounding voice being demonstrated in a podcast off the cuff is pretty different from an actual performance, after all. I really don't think we're gonna see this air, and there's something to be said about mov...

https://imissbionix.wordpress.com/2021/02/06/crtc-revokes-wow-unlimiteds-comedy-gold-license/ In a move that should surprise only the most optimistic, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) has revoked Comedy Gold’s broadcast license. The move came via the request of...

Re: Curse of the blood rubbie rare dub

FUNimation already has it, you dumbo. If they wanted us to see it, it'd already be on a Blu-ray. What I want to know is, if you don't want to preserve the product, why did you bother buying it? Just to stare at it? So, "indeed," I hope you stare at it so much that you at least get dry eyes if nothi...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" Dub Turns 10; Still Unreleased

Alright, well, there's two things I wish to share right now. 1 of which is news but not Dragon Ball-related. The other is Dragon Ball-related but not news. Anyway, first thing's first. We gotta (at least briefly) talk about Sir Ian James Corlett replacing our fallen hero, Kirby Morrow. https://twitt...

Re: Funny unknown tidbit

Ah yes, the game with the Scottish man with the gaping flame vagina. Good times. Makes me want to watch the AVGN Jaguar episode more than anything honestly, but very interesting that they referenced Dragon Ball seamlessly here. Like, before it was even a cultural phenomenon. EDIT: Just noticed that ...

Re: How many versions/dubs aired on YTV?

I never considered the possibility there wasn't an Ocean edit of Funimation episodes 108-167 (edited), but then again I wasn't aware the Ocean edit of episodes 54-108 existed until recently. That old Z dub certainly had some amount of variations. Actually, not only are there Ocean edits of 108-167,...

Re: How many versions/dubs aired on YTV?

August 2001: Episode 168 premieres on YTV, finally progressing the series forward after a 4-month hiatus filled with repeats. The Z series would not look back after this final alteration to production was made as the series begins airing featuring what's known in the fandom as the "Westwood dub." M...

Re: How many versions/dubs aired on YTV?

Interesting, so these first runs of the first 13 episodes pre-1999 were the only time YTV showed exactly what was shown in the US (straight down to the use of the US Rock the Dragon, I'm assuming?) Yup! Some showings even contained the Saban-made bumpers from syndication as you can see here: https:...

Re: How many versions/dubs aired on YTV?

I don't have to go into much detail since Robo already posted here but basically this is the (closest to) official YTV timeline with the Dragon Ball franchise: March 1996: YTV premieres the BLT Productions dub of Dragon Ball on the Saturday of March Break as acquired from FUNimation Productions. Thi...

https://imissbionix.wordpress.com/2021/01/24/zo-zo-zombie-to-air-on-toon-a-vision/ Not to bump this thread with even more irrelevant things, but this Toon-A-Vision channel really does seem to be expanding their little anime block as of late. Maybe showing them our interest is the next course of act...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" Dub Turns 10; Still Unreleased

So, it looks like the first post in 2021 on this thread is going to made by me. That can't be a good sign. ^^; I was speaking to a friend of mine not too long ago about the same old, Canadian broadcasting politics and she said something that struck a nerve with me. She pointed out that shows such as...

Re: Dragon Ball Rewatch, Week 54 - DBZ 75-79 (CURRENT WEEK)

Pretty sure Funimation removed any additional sfx that wasn’t used in the Japanese version. Not sure if that was a mistake like using the work print version of the Faulconer track mix being used or an attempt to be “closer to the Japanese version” without having to do anything. Not entirely true. S...

Re: Dragon Ball Rewatch, Week 54 - DBZ 75-79 (CURRENT WEEK)

Has anyone ever asked Chris Sabat or Sonny Strait about that line? I’d say Ceyli Delgadillo but she seemed to have fallen off the face of earth. I'm fairly sure a different line was used for the Ocean edit of the episode that aired on YTV after the Garlic Jr. saga premiered, so I think it's just a ...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" Dub Turns 10; Still Unreleased

even if they can license it, some providers don't carry the channel so some fan won't be able to watch the dub. That's still a step above Corus' time-honoured track record of nothing. And on top of that, independent networks have to crawl before they walk. Meaning that sometimes they need something...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" Dub Turns 10; Still Unreleased

I probably shouldn't announce this so callously and on a grand stage such as this but to hell with it: Through a friend, I managed to obtain the email address of one Adam Mimnagh, the founder and president of Toon-A-Vision. I took the opportunity to pitch the concept of him airing the program on his...

Re: DBZ Syndication era Affiliate Promos.

Btw, since it aired on a local Fox Affiliate, on a local Fox Kids block, they used the normal Fox logo, the Fox Kids logo? or no logo at all? I've seen that the syndicated airings of Sailor Moon used the station's logo Very rarely would a watermark appear at all, but if it did it was momentary and ...

Wow that's an awesome find! Any plans to upload that three-parter on the Internet Archive? Are you planning on uploading the recordings you have onto the internet archive?
