Re: Dragon Ball Super: Manga Chapter 90 - Official Discussion Thread
I liked this chapter A LOT! It's a relief, because I wasn't so convinced with last episode. I really liked Mai's role, and the interactions between Goten, Trunks and their classmates were funny and made me nostalgic for my teenage years  Beta #7 has some Caramel Man vibes and I liked that too. ...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Manga Chapter 87 - Official Discussion Thread
I read this chapter twice: first in isolation and then after reading the last two chapters for more context. Surprisingly, this ending was foreshadowed two chapters ago, when Elec told Gas that the most important thing is to get rid of Freeza and that he should hurry up and take the saiyans down (.....

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Manga Chapter 85 - Official Discussion Thread
It comes down to what you expect from late-stage Dragonball. I can do without the fighting and the inflated fake drama about the fate of the world or whatever. That makes Moro a tough sell for me from the get-go. If Moro is the scourge of the universe threatening to eat up all existence, why didn’t...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Manga Chapter 85 - Official Discussion Thread
Same here, I really want the manga to stay good, and I enjoyed most of it, but the pacing now is being awful. I really hope it gets better and brings a good conclusion to this arc. Toyotaro can do better.

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie #2 Thread: "Super Hero"
Wait wait, before it gets too far: the translation says there are two "lines" of Dragon Ball Super running in parallel, but that doesn't mean "timelines". This could mean "production lines", and later Iyoku clarifies that "it's like we have events running in parall...

Thought I'd check this out of curiosity. Goku and Vegeta landed on Cereal in Chapter 72. This is what we've had since then, not counting the flashback stuff. Goku and Vegeta vs Granolah Goku vs Granolah Vegeta vs Granolah Goku vs Granolah #2 Vegeta vs Granolah #2 Goku and Vegeta vs Gas Granolah vs ...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Manga Chapter 85 - Official Discussion Thread
I enjoyed this episode in the vacuum, but overall I only want this saga to end. It began with such an interesting premise and it has been wasted by fighting and more fighting. About UI in this episode, it's becoming really obvious that Toyo doesn't have a clear idea about where to go with these stat...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie #2 Thread: "Super Hero"
About that character you're talking about (I'm going to preserve it in spoilers box, even if most of you are talking about it freely): I'm ok with Cell Max and I prefer him over the return of Original Cell, not only because that would be (again) cheap fan service, but because it's coherent with char...

Seems like this movie is more Toriyama-service than fan-service. I'm ok with that

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie #2 Thread: "Super Hero"
Are you seriously saying that the movies are in a different continuity than the manga just because Goku and Vegeta only mention Jiren and not Moro and Granolah? That alone puts into question whether or not the manga sagas happened in the movies continuity. "Yes, the manga sagas happened in the...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie #2 Thread: "Super Hero"
At this point, I think it's obvious that the new transformations aren't something that Toriyama comes up with, but an imposition from above to sell toys and hype the more simplistic fans. The uglyness or simplicity of these new forms is the way Toriyama has found since BoG to entertain himself with ...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie #2 Thread: "Super Hero"
Are you seriously saying that the movies are in a different continuity than the manga just because Goku and Vegeta only mention Jiren and not Moro and Granolah? They're probably just waiting to an animated continuation of Super in order to present these characters to the general public and keeping t...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Manga Chapter 83 - Official Discussion Thread
I don't get it. A lot of you are talking as if Goku was never predestined to something before Minus' existence, when it's totally the opposite: his father Bardock saw that Kakarot was predestined to fight Freeza. So the very same criticisms can be done to Bardock's 90s TV Special: Goku is not a no o...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
Why does everyone wants us to rush to the EoZ? Is it preference? Is it nostalgia? You do realize that currently Toriyama and Toyo may want to fill the 'time skip' with stories because the EoZ will be the finale of Dragon Ball right? All things have to come to an end, and with no gurantee that the s...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
I am fine with the focus constantly being on Goku, since he is the main character. It is just how it works. I am not a Goku fanboy, but I realize that he is supposed to have the spotlight all the time because he is -the main character-. Side characters may get the spotlight in some fights, but ulti...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
About the teaser of this new arc, why is everybody assuming that the main events of the arc will take place just after the battle with Moro? Because they would make a huge deal out of it in the trailer if it was set after EoZ. Or maybe they're waiting to make the whole announcement at Jump Festa th...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
This guy cannot be the survivor of one of the erased universes, because the Erase technique that Zeno has ignores geographical location. If you are biologically from a certain universe, you can be anywhere you want, but you will still be erased. Literally everything is erased. There is a scene wher...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Final Episode Theory / Prediction
My prediction: someone wishes to merge all life forms and planets from the erased universes in Universe 7. The number of universes remains low as the Zenos wanted, and the population of U7 grows from the suspiciously low number of inhabited planets mentioned at the beginning of the arc. Lots of pote...

Re: Mastered Ultra Instinct [Spoiler Discussion Thread]
Looking at the two Toriyama designs side by side, you can see that the second one is not a recolor but a redrawn version. In fact, it's slightly bulkier (we can assume it's meant to be "normal sized Goku" in Toriyama's new standards). [spoiler] https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gZJkqYcIqn0/Won0YD...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
How I think Toyotaro can handle the following chapters: Vegeta fights Black, he transforms in Super Saiyan Rosé. Beerus kills Zamasu in the present and believes the job is done. Zamasu then appears to Goku and Vegeta in the future, not only alive, but being inmortal. He explains all the time paradox...
