Re: Wiki: Page Template Discussion - Techniques

Was gonna let more experienced and knowledgeable users respond to this first but since nobody seems to be for the meantime anyway... What information about a technique's name should be included (spellings, adaptations, pun source, etc.), if at all? I think the name and kanji should be included in th...

Re: Akira wanted Broly to end dbz?

No this isn't a troll post. Well maybe I jumped the gun on that one (sorry, if true!) but as other users have said Broly was never intended to appear in the manga. I mean surely if Toriyama wanted to include him that badly he would have skipped over Boo and made him the final antagonist of the seri...

Re: Did anyone like the Garlic Jr. Saga?

I think it's quite good up until the halfway point. After that, it sort of tailors off. I've never been a fan of the guardian stuff and, as has been mentioned already, Garlic Jr opening the Dead Zone again was incredibly stupid. Nevertheless, I do love the core conceit of the saga/arc. Namely, seein...

Re: Akira wanted Broly to end dbz?

Actually Toriyama was more involved in DBZ movie than most people know. Toei always sent him the draft of the script of every DBZ movie before they would get animated and released just so that if there were any improvements or changes to the script that needed to be made, who better to do it than T...

Re: Akira wanted Broly to end dbz?

I have seen a few times this has been mentioned and his producers wouldn't allow this stating "you can't introduce a new villain during the cell games." And so good guy akira made the broly movie This was stated on the wikipedias but then was removed by fans and begged the admin not to pl...

Re: Does Goku give you the warm feels?

Kind of in the sense that I think he's a reassuring presence within the show. The world certainly feels a hell'uva lot safer with him around, even if the man himself might not agree!

I enjoy season 3, it's definitely dark, but interesting. Season 4 collapses in on itself, with the exception of the final episode (David's performance in the finale is excellent), but season 5 is brilliant - Spike and Angel forever ! Hear, hear (though for the record I did think season 4 had some r...

Re: Anyone else think Vegeta was too easily forgiven by the

Is it just me who's been seriously reminded of the Buffyverse's Angel whilst reading through this thread? Without wanting to spoil anything too much , Angel used to be the biggest, meanest bad guy around until 'one soul to go' transformed him into by and large a force for good. Over the course of bo...

Re: DragonBall Z Abridged

Dragon ball is much older than Angel and the dance was on the anime I believe (even though I don't know if its called dance of joy). Oh I know. I was just curious in terms of naming conventions (there's a dance of honour too..) Thanks for responding though, Kaiser. On a more relevant note, I really...

Re: DragonBall Z Abridged

This question might seem a little bit random and might have already been answered but I'm currently watching the T.V show Angel for the first time and I just watched an episode where the main cast are knocking about in a place in Pylea. Anyways, one of the characters they meet (played by I'm told no...

Re: Manga UK Possibly Picking Up Kai

Another vote for Kai. I can't really comment on the DBZ Blu-Rays because they're a release that I've stayed away from but they're not that superior to the Orange Bricks, are they?

Besides, it'd be nice to own a more condensed version and one with a much better English Dub.

Thanks for explaining and it makes sense I suppose. That is the actual explanation makes sense not FUNimation's reason for actually doing it!

Re: Dragon Ball Z "Seasons" On Blu-ray: News & Discussion

They want to make Dragon Ball Zeeeeee look modernistic because the TVs nowadays are widescreen so the show gotta be in widescreen too right? Nahh. I hate when companies do this kind of bullshit as well as cleaning up the image which leads to detail loss, Viz is going to release the Sailor Moon seri...

Re: Dragon Ball Z "Seasons" On Blu-ray: News & Discussion

This is probably going to be an awful question - and anyone can feel free to jump in and answer - but the above image is making me wonder: if the show was originally aired in 4:3 and was drawn that way (?) then how come it can exist in 16:9 because it doesn't look like the footage has been especiall...

Re: Role Models in the Dragonball/Z series.

As a child, I absolutely wanted to emulate Gohan on the basis that he was both intelligent and incredibly strong. He also saved the world when he was ten years old and I mean come on how cool is that?! I also agree with those who highlighted Goku based on his physical prowess. The guy may not be the...
