If you wanna get technical for second, the Dragon Box is actually zoomed out so much so in some episodes that you can see the round corners of the 16mm film frame. Looks like Toei fixed this for streaming.Forte224 wrote:the YouTube version is slightly zoomed in

The Japanese track doesn't hold a candle to the dragon box but it if you listen to it on good speakers it'll be fine. Don't know about the dub.

I recently watched my copy of the Sleeping Princess 2005 DVD and I must say it is definitely the best 4:3 version of the movie out there. The framerate is completely intact because this is an older transfer, but on my television the colors look pretty great and I saw few if any artifacts.

@uzuni I would have recommended you buy the set I got which was apparently only sold in Canadian markets, but it looks like it's unavailable for the most part... https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00GJUQ0CW/ The "box" (if you could call it that) that houses all nine bulky digipaks is really just a ...

widescreen here it depends too if you are purist or if you just want color nearest from the original Toei remaster have grain intact , more natural colors and regular footage but more cropping and color cast (that can be solved by cc) Funimation have less grain (but not big DNR either) , more image...

AAC audio is incompatible with DVD and Blu-ray. I wish these had been exported to AC3 at least. I bet you could convert the audio with Audacity or something like that. I don't know how I didn't get notified of this post before today but... Converting from a lossy source introduces artifacts and com...

Re: Missing rare English dubs thread
Anyway, not covered in this thread so far is: AB Groupe/Ocean's dub of Dragon Ball Z, covering episodes 123-291(108-276 in TV numbering). Even piracy is unlikely to yield decent recordings online, though thankfully the whole run is covered. AB Groupe/Blue Water's dub of Dragon Ball GT, covering all...

Missing rare English dubs thread
This is a thread for discussion of any of the rare English dubs of Dragon Ball that have yet to be (edit: fully) preserved. Some key omissions in the canon include: -The Speedy Video dub of Dragon Ball Z eps. 1-12?, released on VCD in Malaysia (eps. 7-8 available) -The AB Groupe "Big Green"...

There's a chance that Kaze got the digital master in full HD. I'm hoping they didn't just take the Jump DVD and blow it up to ugly proportions and slap on a Dolby Digital track. But a boy can dream...

Mindlessly praising poor approaches isn't very beneficial. It's not about putting people down, it's about ensuring nobody's going in the wrong direction. With all due respect, Ajay, all you said about waifu2x was your opinion of it being gross and not any reasons why it would be gross to use it. I ...

Re: Do the Dragonboxes colors look any better on OLED?
One thing many people note about the Dragonbox release of the series is that the colors look fairly faded and pale. However I noticed when watching on a CRT via component the colors seemed to be a tad less washed out. I was wondering if the same was true of an OLED TV? If there's anyone here who ow...
