Re: Why is Toei reanimating Sailor Moon but not DBZ?
Incidentally, Yasuko Kobayashi was the head writer for live-action Sailor Moon. She's head written a lot of other toku shows, most of which are well liked. They're also dogshit, so there's that. I'll never understand Kobayashi's popularity. Ever. Even by Sentai's own standards, her stuff is incredi...

Re: Did anyone like the Garlic Jr. Saga?
As an aside, this was probably one of my favourite arcs a kid and, whilst it was by no means my introduction to the show, it's probably what got me first hooked on DBZ as a whole! :o It's the best Z arc that doesn't have Majin Buu in it, easily. You're literally the first person I've seen to ever s...

Re: Does God Ki bug anyone else?
Dragonball as a series always bullshits some new concept for its mythology when the story demands it. Why did Goku need to be an alien when, originally, his tail was just meant to represent himself as a wild boy. Him being part of the Saiyans, an organized army of a space emperor, is the EXACT OPPOS...

Re: Does God Ki bug anyone else?
How is god ki cheap when it doesn't even make Goku strong enough to beat Beerus? The entire point of god ki was about how much Goku still had to learn and how much he still had to improve. He was made a "god" and then shown how MINISCULE he really was during the very same fight. The entire...

Re: Top 3 underrated / overrated characters?
Simply being a Saiyan was supposed to be the same point as living in 10x gravity. Because he's a Saiyan he's naturally going to live in tougher gravity compared to Earthlings, which is training in and of itself. It's still questionable, especially considering how easy power seems to come to a Saiya...

Re: Top 3 underrated / overrated characters?
I mean, didn't Vegeta kinda earn his powers by simply being a Saiyan , living in 10x gravity his entire life, and then conquering planets and fighting wars for Freeza? That first one isn't really what earning means. Not that I get why these characters "earning" their power even matters, b...

Re: Did anyone like the Garlic Jr. Saga?
It's the shortest arc in a section of the series composed nearly entirely of repetitive story arcs and has a neat fantasy backdrop that makes it distinct from its surrounding storylines.
Also Garlic Jr. is fucking cool.

Re: Why is Toei reanimating Sailor Moon but not DBZ?
3) At least 1/3 of all of Sailor Moon followed the whole Monster Of The Week shtick and Dragon Ball Z is Wuxia. So don't give that whole "DBZ had no plot" rubbish. These are genres (well, the former would be more of a format). You have successfully convinced our friend Dragonball has a re...

Re: Akira wanted Broly to end dbz?
Toriyama personally designed Broly but couldn't use the design for his intended, original final arc, which was about the TRUE legendary Super Saiyan finally surfacing after the Saiyans all achieved the form. Editorial prevented the storyline from going through (which is why we EVENTUALLY got Majin B...

They should do Super Saiyan 5 because "Let's just draw these people, but they're blonde now" has been embarrassingly, stupidly successful and SSJ5 would be way more visually interesting.
