Re: What happens when Masako Nozawa passes away in the futur

If TOEI is serious about Super being another long running shonen anime, and not just ending after the Champa arc I'd imagine there's already been talks about what they will do in the inevitable circumstance something happens to Nozawa. It would certainly be wise if they have considered holding audit...

Re: Favorite Ocean/Westwood Goku Actor

I've also always found Morrow to be quite underrated. I like the energetic feel of his Goku, it really fits the whole man child aspect. He would definitely be my second preference for an Ocean Goku, with Mr Corlett being a close first. It's sad given the unlikelihood of the latter parts of the Ocean...

Re: Canon and Dragonball

That is not even close to what we mean. It means everything is undefined. The 7 arcs of the manga are the heart of the franchise so we can say for sure that they're canon. Agreed. Battle of Gods & Resurrection of F were written by Toriyama as a continuation to the manga so they're canon. The or...

Re: Canon and Dragonball

I'm not sure how there are different levels. It either is or isn't canon. With Star Wars, the extended universe was considered canon by Lucasfilm wasn't it? It was until it was sold, in which case, those stories were thrown out of the canon by Disney so the writers could craft their own stories wit...

Re: 2016 Dragon Ball Predictions

Super will continue to disappoint, and just like GT it will be another series that won't be too fondly remembered. I don't think Super's legacy will be quite like GTs. Remember the reason a lot of people lambast GT is because Toriyama's lack of involvement is so well documented. Granted Toriyama is...

Re: List some Things that you don't like about the fandom

Things that have annoyed me for some time now are those people who compare the worst shot of Super to one of the best shots in Z.For example: http://static.booska-p.com/images/news/dragon-ball-super-bad-buzz-autour-de-l-a-pisode-5-photos-649.jpg While Super has had its fair share of inexcusable fra...

Re: What is your favorite DB series ?

3) Kai - My younger nephews and nieces who were too young to see the original run of DBZ get to see a condensed, more kid version of the show which I really like. How is Kai a more kiddy version of DBZ? I can understand if your nephews and nieces watched the censored version on Nicktoons but the or...

Re: 4:3 vs 16:9 poll

DBZ Kai: 16:9. Since the whole point of the show is to refresh it for modern sensibilities, I actually wish Funi released the widescreen version. You can always adjust the settings on your TV and switch to widescreen if your watching the Funimation Kai DVDs/Blu-Rays. I think the fact it was release...

Re: What is your favorite DB series ?

First of all, I acknowledge that as far as storytelling goes DB is the best. That said Z is the first series I was introduced to, and thus I have the most nostalgia for it, plus the great moments of execution stay with you. As of now I do prefer Kai to Z, because I love how it was remastered, and kn...

Re: How long have we gone without any DVD/Blu-Ray releases ?

It would be nice to see a Dragon Box-esk release for all of Dragon Ball once 4k blu ray comes out. It would be a way to take advantage of a new format so as not to completely over saturate the market. It would also be a fresh platform to release the series and movies with the quality of the Dragon ...

Re: 4:3 vs 16:9 poll

Easy - 4:3 for old shows, 16:9 for new. Pretty much. I'm fine with watching 4:3 for old shows (including Dragon Ball) on HD TVs with the black bars because it preserves the footage as it was meant to be seen (square as opposed to rectangular) and keeps all the important information in the frame. Fo...

Re: Growing Attached to the Voices of Characters

I've learned to have an open mind myself, because when you live somewhere that aired the Blue Water and early and later parts of the Ocean dub (as I do) you need to get used to cast changes even if you weren't from the tape trading era (which I'm not) and started with the English version. I've liked...

Re: Could Dragon Ball SD become an anime?

Why make it an anime? It would be pointless, if anything, Dragon Ball Kai should completely get remastered with new animation. The dubbing is already there, they would just have to re-make the episodes frame by frame but with updated graphics. That would be a huge success worldwide. I think if anyt...

Re: Was Kai Necessary

The cutting out of filler doesn't really bother me very much honestly. Anytime I watch Kai and I feel like sitting through a bit of filler I go to Z and then back to Kai. I love the idea of having two versions of a show where you can spend as much time on it as you want, or see a shorter version if ...

Meh, wouldn't be interested in it personally.

If there's one thing the original Dragon Ball series deserves its a Blu-Ray release.

Re: LIVE Interview with DALE KELLY (Narrator, Ginyu) on 1/29

I listened to this yesterday, and now that I'm thinking about it: could the strain between FUNimation and Kelly be the reason that there was no "Rock the Dragon"-type release for any of the edited Toonami season 3+ material? Doubt it, I'd say the reason there was no follow-up to Rock the ...

Will Funimation's dub be titled "Dragon Ball Z Super"

Just a thought that came to me. I have a hunch it could happen because this was the case with Kai and going from a production named "Dragon Ball Z Kai" it would feel like a seamless transition for this generation of English-speaking Dragon Ball fans to go from that to Super. I also think w...
