Re: How do you ''see'' the forum?

I would definitely say this forum leads more towards the academic/scholarly side. As the leading Dragon Ball site on the web I honestly think Kanzenshuu owes it to itself to be taken seriously. There are of course fun topics thrown in the mix, as VegettoEX likes to say "and a little bit of entertain...

Re: Dragon Ball Rewatch, Week 12 - DB episodes 51-55

Going to just get my thoughts for these episodes out of the way. Episode 51 - The Ocean Bottom’s Guardman Good action packed episode full of excitement and soft horror. The Pirate Robot is rather formidable and mobile as it manages to shoot at Goku and Kuririn from all directions. Bulma manages to s...

Re: Dragon Ball Z Kai: Yamamoto Revival (Parts 5-8) - COMPLETED!

Hi there! I really love the Yamamoto music. I have some really good looking files of DBZ Kai that have the Kikuchi score. Is there a way to get all the Yamamoto (before part 5) and put it on those or does that not exist? Thanks! If your in Region B there's always the option of the Manga UK Blu-Rays...

Re: Dragon Ball and COVID-19

Hows everyone doing in the hard hit areas? It's not too bad for me. I miss being able to go out to the places I like to go, but I'm glad I'm still in work, and I'm driving every day rather than using public transport to be safe. When I get home I spend my time watching the news and then treating my...

Re: Level 1.1 back...in stock?

I think Funimation is probably clearing their warehouse and making room for their new (not really new anymore) Essentials and Classics line, where they rerelease older stuff with lower prices. Haven't thought about that, but that's also plausible. If anything Funimation could be clearing space to m...

Re: Problem #472 with the Dragon Boxes - DNR

Honestly, if the Level sets were completed the Dragon Boxes wouldn't be as pedestalised as they have been by the fandom. They are rated on being a complete, uncut release of all 291 episodes, and considering their only competition in English-speaking territories is the orange bricks, season Blu-Rays...

Re: Dragon Ball Rewatch, Week 11 - DB episodes 46-50

Been a crazy last two weeks, but getting caught up now: Episode 46 - Bulma's Big Blunder This episode starts off quite fun but takes a dark turn as we see the consequences of Goku's lack of self control at times. As we begin Goku is having lots of fun riding the Kinto Un, to the extent shrunk Bulma ...

Re: Dragon Ball/Z/GT home releases moving forward

I'd love to see a level set revival for all of Z and OG DB and GT done like that.

Realistically, standard editions of the 30th anniversary remaster and UHD Blu-Ray Z "Season" sets are probably coming, and we won't get anything for the other two aforementioned series.

Re: Level 1.1 back...in stock?

I agree with the pleasure of collecting sentiment. Once my copy of Level 1.1 arrives I'll own at least the first half of the Saiyan arc five times (Arrival, level 1.1, Z season 1 BD, Kai US Season 1, Kai UK Season 1) and I like that I get something different out of all of them, and every one I curre...

Re: What is the story behind the Westwood Dub?

So... Getting back onto what we talked about on the first page, before we somewhat derailed... If Ian Corlett said the reason the Westwood dubs got made was because Ocean retained some rights to record the show , and various evidence suggests that Westwood was essentially an arm of Ocean that would...

Re: What if another NETWORK (Not dubbing company) gpt Dragon Ball?

I think as long as the show was on at a time the target audience watches, the show would be the highest rated show of the network. I agree with this, although the OP is very vague. If we're not talking ratings a Canadian or Turner-owned UK channel airing Dragon Ball would make a difference to us Oc...

I can’t track of all these different Funi releases.

How do these level sets differ from the orange bricks?
To sum it up:

1080p vs 480p
4:3 as opposed to 16:9
Light DNR rather than heavy DNR and bleaching
Fake grain instead of no grain
No crop

Oh yeah definitely worth it for 375 $ just for one volume.
Level 1.1 was $22.40 when it suddenly went back in stock. I bought it at that price, but, yeah, hard to imagine anyone would be willing to pay the current price for a used copy with 17 episodes

Doc Harris Voice: Could this mean that Funimation is testing the sustained popularity of a release from almost a decade ago? Is this a reaction to the 30th anniversary set? Could more of these be coming? Probably not! But stay tuneddddd. It's most likely just a few unsold boxes of stock that were f...

Re: Dragon Ball Rewatch, Week 11 - DB episodes 46-50 (CURRENT WEEK)

I agree, there's a lot of repetitions of earlier themes and subplots in these episodes like the Stark contrast between Goku's natural instincts and Bulma's sophistication (she calls him diving and not using a submarine from a hoi poi capsule "primitive"), Muten Rishi having ulterior motives that bit...

Re: What is the story behind the Westwood Dub?

I know they weren't involved in the production, but I was under the impression they were the ones who made the call to have it done since they had licensing rights in Europe and left Westwood and Ocean to do the dubbing? Guess not. It would be INCREDIBLY weird if AB's distribution rights and French...

Re: What is the story behind the Westwood Dub?

Another thing that should be mentioned, because it's brought up often is that the Westwood dub was almost certainly not made to fit Canadian content requirements. YTV had already been getting Funimation's dub (both Saban and inhouse) up to Episode 168 (183 uncut) so Dragon Ball Z was already airing ...
