Re: Original Dragon Ball anime to be released on Blu Ray in Spain

I don't think they are related other than both Funimation and Selecta Vision getting TOEI's approval for their releases, possibly around the same time. Remember other than the movies and TV specials TOEI hasn't shown any interest in doing HD remasters. With Z they were happy to promote Funimation's ...

Re: Any Canadians that have YTV recordings of the Blue Water dub?

Define "trial run". If the entirety of Westwood Z and Blue Water DB and GT (and hell, even every Big Green movie) was uploaded to FunimationNow and then deleted by 24 hours... by the time it's deleted there'll be web-dl's of everything. As long as it takes to gauge interest. It's no secret a hypoth...

Re: Any Canadians that have YTV recordings of the Blue Water dub?

Threads like this just goes to show why the Canadian dubs should get a home release. All this petty bickering would cease as everyone who wants a decent quality remaster would buy it in a heartbeat. Granted it would likely go out of print and fetch ridiculous prices like Rock the Dragon, but at the ...

If I had the money I'd support WOW in getting this channel off the ground in a heartbeat. I trust in Marni to be able to launch it at some point, just hope it won't be too long.

Thought I'd bump this thread to confirm that my AU/NZ Blu-Ray copy of Super Broly does NOT have the green tint! Hooray!
If I recall correctly Madman received the same masters as Manga UK, so theoretically their Blu-Rays should be identical.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Manga UK Home Release Thread

Ah, so the only thing they haven't released yet is the original movie collection. Well that's a shame I too was disappointed they released the Z movies but not the OG DB movies, but honestly if you want them to release the collection just request it. I own the movie 4-pack but I sent them a message...

Battle of God's and Ressurection F have been on UK Netflix for quite some time. Good to see the latter, maybe both may be coming to Dutch streamers soon.

Re: What parts of the franchise evoke nostalgia for you?

Oh, where do I begin. Watching Dragon Ball as a kid was just so much fun. It got me through difficult times when I was being bullied, inspired me to always aspire and never give up. Some aspects that evoke nostalgia for me are: - watching Goku vs Freeza in 1999 when I lived in Arizona before it ever...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" FUNimation Dub Official Discussion Thread

Yeah....while most of the changes in the past were minor....this arc seems to be making a lot of character changes such as Gokū not being concerned about Gohan, 17 being way too cocky, and now this. Plus, the acting from many of the cast seems dull. It's almost as if they're tired of doing this. Di...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" FUNimation Dub Official Discussion Thread

This is such a bizzare script change, I don't know what to make of it. I've already seen plenty of memes on Twitter about it, I'm sure they will be funny to look at in years to come while we all say "Hey remember the Super dub  ". At least its not as bad as Hit's Donut line but maybe that's not...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" dub seems to be coming...

One pre-emptive thing I'd like to additionally address is that episode 108 does, of course, have a recap of episode 107, and in that recap, there's dialogue (most of which the narrator talks over). However, it's worth noting that most (maybe even all) of the recaps in Westwood Z were recorded on th...

Re: Should Funimation as a Company, wipe the slate clean.

People idealize this notion of rebooting the entire dub. The reality is, even if Funimation were to go to the effort of rigorously re-auditioning the entire cast from scratch they would never be able to assemble a cast that would satisfy enough people for it to be worth the investment. As a company ...

Re: Should Funimation as a Company, wipe the slate clean.

No, and nor should they. It would be too much hassle for them, and it would just split the fandom even more over different English casts.

I can't believe we're going on 9 years of absolutely nothing coming from this despite constant updates. Re: Funimation Leaked Outtakes

If we aren't limiting ourselves to Funi stuff, somebody may or may not want to leak Ocean Kai as well... I wish that would happen, but Ocean have such a steadfast approach to secrecy (is anything at all known about Ken Morrison other than his name and position?) I'd imagine whatever hard drive(s) t...

Re: Vic Mignogna

For me, how exactly the casting couch thing comes up again is going to play a major part in how much I'll believe it. If we suddenly have a bunch of people from FUNi saying it's true, especially if those people are also people who say Vic's guilty as well, then I'm definitely going to have some mis...

Re: Funimation Leaked Outtakes

Ludicroud or not, this is now a huge stain on FUNimation, and while I don't think it's grounds for Toei to remove the license, they will likely have a stern talking with them. First it was the TFS cameo situation, now this. You can rest assured Sabat won't be trying anything else to anger them here...

Re: If Manga UK Were To Release 'Rock the Dragon'

Honestly, the RTD set itself was a little iffy; video quality was utterly awful, the TV cut versions of movies 1 and 2 were an annoying inclusion, and them excluding the Pioneer version of movie 3 was really annoying. I thought the quality of RTD was serviceable from what I've seen in screenshots, ...

Re: What do you think of the tone difference between Z and Super?

I don't really see a huge tonal difference between OG DB and Z, more a progression that mirrors Goku's growth. It's the story about pushing to be the best you can in the face of adversity, and learning about the pros and cons of combat through life experience. Super is a bit of a departure, but it d...
