Re: Weird Old Dub Stuff
Speaking off old TV airings, I'm actually surprised that FUNimation never put their edited GT episode 1 that's just a recap of the important stuff in the first 15 episodes of the show to speed it along to the Baby Arc as a special feature or something on the Green Bricks.
Maybe they didn't ...

Re: Weird Old Dub Stuff
Then there are the moments where they made Goku more heroic by giving him dialogue that felt more like it was coming from a holy man than a country hick when he was talking to Omega.
This was definitely most notable in episodes adapted by Neil Bligh/Chris Neel. In fact, The only GT episode (that ...

DBZ Kai Credits Inquiry
When I saw the Kai dub, I noticed that the TV dub referred to it was "Reversioned", while Kai TFC was a "English Version", and Super was an "English Localization". I'm a bit confused because, didn't FUNi forgo the whole "reversioning" phase that was present in the Original trilogy (Original DB, Z ...

Re: FYE Announces Dragon Ball Z Orange Brick "Collector's" Box Set
"Step into the Grand Tour" plays during the TV Special's ending on the American score track for whatever reason.
AFAIK every 'English with Japanese score' option outside of the Dragon Boxes uses an instrumental rock track instead of Cha-La Head Cha-La . The "remastered" movies, Levels and ...

Re: Dragon Ball Super To Air in the UK on Pop!
I think that "non-verbal noise" was actually Vegeta saying "Dammit" quietly.
Hey LostTimeLord, I have the Toonami broadcast audio for 26 (one of the episodes that changed Frieza's voice for the home releases), so when you do the comparison when the episode comes out on Pop, you could use it. Just ...

Re: The art used in the covers of the Atari-published games
I read a very long time ago that one of those covers (Budokai) was actually drawn by an American artist commissioned by Funimation. I even remember the artist being credited by name, I forget what name though. The same artist also drew the single VHS/DVD covers for Movie 7 and Movie 8 in the US ...

The art used in the covers of the Atari-published games
I noticed that Toei supplied Infogrames/Atari with art for use with the NA covers of games like the First two BT games, Advanced Adventure, Legacy of Goku 1 & 2, Buu's Fury, GT Transformation, Budokai 2 and 3, etc.
I was wondering who drew the art for the characters, or if there are similar artwork ...

I noticed that POP used the shortened OP that Adult Swim US/Toonami used for the series.90sDBZ wrote: Mon Jul 01, 2019 2:44 pm And the opening was obviously shortened a little. Interestingly it had SSB Goku instead of SSG in the part where the form flashes over him, so it must be opening 2 instead of 1.

Re: Dragon Ball Super To Air in the UK on Pop!
Could y'all do us a favor and confirm if it's the edited dub that they're airing please?
I kinda have a feeling it might be edited (though it's edited in dialogue and not footage), since Pop UK is a kids channel after all.
Oh and for those who have UK IPTV, The show will air at 2:00pm ...

Re: Madman DVDs - PAL to NTSC
Honestly I feel like you're better off just picking up a native NTSC release than going through the trouble of reverse-telecining a PAL-izied conversion. I'm hoping Madman at least did pitch-correction on the audio speed change, but even then it still sounds like a massive headache to the point ...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
FUNimation has the NEP clips because they were using them back in the early 2000s when DBZ was airing. I was only 9 or 10 but I specifically remember them being shown.
You're talking about Funimation's "Next time on DRAGON BALL ZEEEEEEE!" previews, right? Were those even based on the ...

Yeah but FUNi just uses Other World for Nicktoons and The CW broadcasts. Possibly because it's way less cheesy, what with all the "distancing from old practices" and whatnotDanfun64 wrote: Mon Apr 15, 2019 12:30 am Other World refers to the afterlife in general. HFIL is, well, Hell.

Re: English Movie Titles - TOEI Vs. FUNimation
I have no real opinion on most of the title changes, but for DBZ Movie 1, Dead Zone is a much better title than In Pursuit of Garlic .
Out of context and without knowing who Garlic Jr. is, one might be given the impression by the Japanese title that it's a movie about Chi-Chi sending Goku to the ...

I'm intrigued that there's people who call the GT season boxsets as "Yellow Bricks" because if that is yellow, it's the greenest yellow you could get.

You want to know what i want from an ideal 30th anniversary release? These 3 ideas.
