I'm waiting for Buu to casually reveal some sort of Monkey's Paw side effect or something.

Poor Freeza.

BTW, were these last four years an utter waste of time?

Re: So is Vegeta the new Piccolo?

Goku had an arm ripped thought his chest. That isn't the same level of injury Vegeta got giving that a similar wound killed Goku in Z. If anything, it showed off Goku's durability since he didn't die. Remember everyone thought Moro killed Goku. Yeah, and it was pretty lame. Not sure what your point...

Re: So is Vegeta the new Piccolo?

Goku would not have been able to beat Moro without Vegeta and everyone else. Goku was literally getting crushed in Moro’s hand Yes Goku provided the power to destroy the crystal but it was Piccolo’s idea, Vegeta’s technique, Uub’s god power, etc that all came together to get them the win. Goku is t...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

Based on Beerus’ reaction to Vegeta’s power-up, it seems that Goku was the strongest fighter. In Boo arc, even if Goku was stronger than Gohan, SS3 probably would decrease his strength so rapidly that Gohan could manage something. That and all the Ulimate Gohan > Super Saiyan 3 Goku comes from Goku...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

The anime only expands stuff so they don't catch up with the manga and it's questionable if they care about that. That is usual for anime like One Piece, but everyone knows Dragon Ball Super was a special case where neither anime or manga is the source material, but Toriyama's notes are. The point ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

I don't see why since this arc had a lot of padding that can easily be cut. I can probably cut this entire arc by at least six chapters. While I don't disagree with that, Dragon Ball (Super) is a continuous anime so they'll rather extend the scenes instead of cutting them. It's still uncertain if t...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

It was a good climax to the final battle with Moro, but it should have been six chapters instead of eight. It makes sense Vegeta couldn't separate Moro from the planet with the power difference, but his actions allowed Goku to win. The Moro arc will most likely end next chapter, making this 25 chap...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

it really isn’t up to Toei to make a new Dragon Ball series with Toriyama. That actually falls into the owners if SJ since Toei is just an animation partner. It’s obvious that Super was rushed because of the success of Resurrection ‘F’ and they wanted to strike when the iron was hot. While Toei pro...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Sailor Moon Crystal had similar production issues despite it being bi-monthly. And most new series starts as manga in Japan. There are very few anime originals that isn’t based on a manga or legecy series. That and Toei actually didn’t have much say in Super’s rush production since the actual owner...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

That is lot of bulk. When you used that logic, Dragon Ball GT and Evolution would have sold gangbusters since it’s all Dragon Ball. Same with Dragon Ball Kai which was considered a failure in Japan. I think it goes without saying that Toriyama being involved is going to attract more attention. Toei...

Re: What is the likelihood of them introducing a Super Saiyan version of Ultra Instinct in the future?

You’re assuming that Toriyama okay the panel because it was correct. That's not how this works. Toriyama "okays" (and even occasionally adds to) every chapter ever drawn/written in the manga. This was stated verbatim in multiple interviews. Claiming that something within these chapters "slipped by"...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Most fans do care about Dragon Ball's story. I'm not sure how you think it's gotten as popular as it has without people caring about the narrative. The bedrock was laid ages ago by the original series. Super has mostly coasted off of that. It has become common to just say people don't care about [i...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Japan in general don’t give a shit about continuity. That’s mostly a western thing. Which is why no manga, not even something as lore heavy as One Piece that has been running for 20 years, has a lore master. And to be frank, most fans don’t watched Dragon Ball for its story. Which is why Resurrecti...

Re: What is the likelihood of them introducing a Super Saiyan version of Ultra Instinct in the future?

That comment is open to interpretation, I've read interesting explanations about it in the manga thread. Besides the obvious difference between a passing comment and an actual situation that involves several panels. My point was that Toyotaro works with Toriyama, side-by-side might be an exaggerati...

Re: What is the likelihood of them introducing a Super Saiyan version of Ultra Instinct in the future?

Isn't the manga corrected by Toriyama? seems like he didn't see an error here, if it ended up being published. Toriyama does missed things, like the infamous 'Vegeta never underestimates his his opponent'. That comment is open to interpretation, I've read interesting explanations about it in the ma...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

He killed Freeza at the end of Resurrection 'F' regardless if you say Whis help if you're going to count Goku killing Buu. Goku didn't need someone to rewind time so he could kill Buu and Baby. Missing the point. To kill Buu, Goku didn't just need the help of his friends to make the Spirit Bomb (wi...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

I mean, I have been saying for one month that it's disappointing how Goku hasn't learned his lesson from RoF... but there are many people in this thread who refuse to let go of the past. The idea that Goku would develop as a character and become more ruthless and merciless is unfathomable, and this...
