Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread

You left out the fact that it didnt actually outdo Super's Final episode, it only got a 5,4 while One Piece underperformed for some reason... You also left the fact that all the other series(the ones that appeared in the previous week) underperformed, so it was a low week overall. And the fact stan...

Re: When Dragonball returns in 2019 I hope they don't adapt the movie into episodes again

I don't think they will have any problem waiting at least 2 years for the next Dragon Ball TV Series, but even if they aren't the series will not be coming in the same timeslot. It will have to come in another one. This means Toei Animation would be doing 1 more long running series than normal. We ...

Re: When Dragonball returns in 2019 I hope they don't adapt the movie into episodes again

During the end of episode 131, the narrator stated 'Untill then (when a new and unknown enemy appears), a brief parting. See you all again!' The narrator is basically telling this to the viewers of the tv-series, the kids that watch it every morning in the early timeslot. If he was only referring t...

Re: When Dragonball returns in 2019 I hope they don't adapt the movie into episodes again

I would be very surprised if Super would not return somewhere between April and Oktober 2019. It's written in the stars to happen. It's six months to make an episode. If they begin let's say in December, the movie will be in theatres untill April, and then it's about the 30th anniversary of Z, the ...

Re: When Dragonball returns in 2019 I hope they don't adapt the movie into episodes again

No way would they go more than a year without a new series. Why not? Gegege no Kitaro is a landmark of Toei Animation, and is not like the studio needs Dragon Ball to function. Even without Dragon Ball Super, the studio would still be the number 1 anime studio in Japan, like it was for all the year...

Re: When Dragonball returns in 2019 I hope they don't adapt the movie into episodes again

Dragon Ball will not return, at least not in the current timeslot, in 2019, probably not even in 2020. Gegege no Kitaro the following series isn't just some series, but a huge mark in Toei Animation story, and anime in general, not only is the longest and the one with more remakes, this one will be...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread

2017 had the worst ratings overall for Super, much lower than they were for its first 2 years during 2015 and 2016. I wonder if the declining ratings really did have an impact after all. Super sinking to the 4.0's really was a killer. Almost certainly not. You had 2 things. Super was already in the...

Re: Super possibly losing its timeslot or going on hiatus in March?

From what I read, it said that the Super brocast is undecided and that its not like the series is over. That was the same thing said to Bleach and Toriko. Do you see any of them still airing? Gegege no Kitaro will almost certainly take 2 year, in the least. The last 3 runs had 2 years. The differen...

Re: Super possibly losing its timeslot or going on hiatus in March?

You do know that your left out the most important part. They also said, “its not like the series will end”. Here is the context. “Fuji TV says that while there are no set plans for the broadcast of a new DB show, “it’s not like the series is over”. Further we have: “This site likewise says the new ...

Re: Super possibly losing its timeslot or going on hiatus in March?

People all this time assumed Super would never end just because of the profit the series was doing, though they never took the effort to look Toei Animation modus operandi nor that specific timeslot. Normally series are firstly planned for 1 or 2 years. Dragon Ball Super was planned for 2 years. The...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread

I don't believe Dragon Ball Super is getting cancelled. The Kitaro speculation is at the moment, a stretch. Super is too successful in other avenues to let the show end, so it would likely get dumped to a less desirable time slot if Fuji TV was displeased with its viewership - which we've been give...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread

Well, here's the Kanzenshuu article on when Kai was revealed to be ending: http://www.kanzenshuu.com/2011/03/03/dragon-ball-kai-ending-in-japan-first-solid-confirmation/ It mentions poor merchandise sales. Super doesn't have that. The announcement did however come only a few weeks before the show e...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread

Just a note that Dragon Ball Super was planned for 2 years, and is already running for 3. And Gegege no Kitaro, the series is coming back(it comes back every decade) and this is its timeslot. Not saying that Super will end, but the excuse that is unlikely because they didn't advertised is a really ...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread

That's what I'm trying to say! But, people are saying that Super is getting cancelled. They may go into hitus but if then it's still a big question on whether it's going to happen. This arc wasn't advertised as the last one so I highly doubt that's the case. I agree. I'd think if it were meant to b...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread

I think they really need to move to EOZ territory if they plan on continuing the series. No way can they stay in the current time. Trunks and Goten as adults and focusing on Uub and Pan is what the future holds. That would kill the franchise. They tried something similar with GT and it was a disast...
