Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
I'd not mind a Blu-ray release of it exactly as those uncompressed screenshots showed. I would friggin love to watch DBZ with THAT quality.
I think we all would! It kills me seeing those images. Even if it's a third generation print, I get to see just a tiny glimpse of how great one of my ...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
I've never been fully informed about these "third-generation masters" that I always here Funimation having. So the source for their releases for DBZ (Pioneer, singles, Orange Bricks, and 2014 Blu-Rays) are not remastered versions of the original 16mm prints and tapes? I know for sure that the ...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
Ok guys just because i am curious how many of you would be interested in this set if it was the before shot but still had to have the same crop as the after shot because of not being able to afford to fix all the film? Would the non DVNR and grain restoration be enough to convince anyone here to ...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
I did my part and respectfully messaged them on Facebook and Twitter about my problems with this release. It's really hard not to be frustrated at this release though, especially with them showing everyone their film scans! I'm sure whatever film elements Toei has buried away somewhere look even ...

Re: DragonBall Z Abridged
Absolutely fantastic episode! Great job Kaiser and everyone else at TFS! I've been following the series for 8 years now, so it was really cool to hear callbacks to the first couple of episode's jokes even now. This series and all the other awesome Dragon Ball stuff TFS does is what really got me ...

Re: Do colors matter?
I'm not bothered by colors changing at all. I'm a big fan of JoJo and have learned to just ignore the color of characters. My most frequent exposure to Dragon Ball growing up was the manga so I barely even think of some characters as having color to them. If Toriyama thinks Trunks would look better ...

Re: Why Not Just Start With a Colored Manga?
It's really just too much work to ask of one artist and Shueisha/Jump don't care enough about the manga to warrant hiring someone else. The manga is just an ad for the show to them. It's kinda surprising it's being collected in Japan and released at all over here to begin with.

It's nice to have some confirmation of that. Thanks!Herms wrote: Specifically, he's the "attendant" (tsukibito) of the God of Earth; it's the same term used to describe Kibito in relation to Kaioshin, and Whis in relation to Beerus.

Re: Should Mr. Popo be retconned in as a God?
I like to think of him as attendant to God much like Whis is to Beerus, training him and overseeing his residence. It's really not an uncommon position in Dragon Ball, Kibito is the same way, so is Bubbles too I guess.

Re: Why Not Just Start With a Colored Manga?
The comparison to US comics is incredibly unfair and insinuating that coloring a comic is quick and easy is offensive to the artists who make a living doing it. Toyotaro is writing, penciling, inking, and lettering about 30 pages a month for Super for about $4 a volume. A US comic has a writer ...

Re: For those that watched the dub AND sub before reading ma
Whenever I read the manga it's some unholy mixture of the Kai Funi cast and DBZA with Masako Nozawa as the Son family. For characters that only appear in the pre-Z era I just make up a voice in my head. That's what happens when your only experience with the full story is through the manga.

Re: Request: Looking for the Kanzenban spine-art
How much do they cost? I like to get scans of some of the other spine art as well
On amazon it costs about $45. That seems to be about the average cost with shipping.
Something like this? http://imgbox.com/2nTmME7C
No, I meant the complete spine-art not the whole cover. But thanks for trying to ...

Re: Request: Looking for the Kanzenban spine-art
I saw on an earlier thread that you were photoshopping a full image from bot the 3-in-1 and the Kanzenban. I really need a scan of the complete art and not of the spines. I guess my best bet would be to buy and scan the Chogashu

Request: Looking for the Kanzenban spine-art
I'm doing a bind of the Vizbig manga in the style of the Kanzenban. Every image I can find of the spine-art from the Kanzenban edition has inconsistent colors and/or is cropped. Apparently the Chōgashū has the full image in it. Does anyone have a scan of this?
