Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

Funimation's customer service must be a guy with a Google Voice number forwarded to his cell phone. 16 days? Leave a message? Come on, Funimation; step it up. All resolved? Na, they wanted my order number then said due to the nature of the claim they have to escalate it so it could take a while... ...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

I personally can't wait to have this in my collection a long with my Dragonboxes. but Funimation has one of the sorriest customer services I have seen. They removed the ''Guest sign in'' option so now I can't check the status of my package to make sure everything is still good with it. messaged em ...

Does this actually play Tapion's theme from the film?
Yep! I'd make a video but I'm too lazy lol

It sounds great, just like a classic music box

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

Either way they could have done the level set quality for this release. They marketed it as a limited run, hardcore fans release.

Get rid of the figure and add $10-$20 to the price if they had to. Would have covered costs for them and everyone wins.

They are clearly stupid or just straight up dicks

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

I was at a panel with Chris and Sean a week ago and Chris said how they would allow random jokes if he thought it fit with the characters. As long as it didn't mess with the bigger plot of things. He gave an example from the battle of gods movie but I can't remember what it was He also mentioned tha...

I ordered the Broly blu-ray. Instead I got the Blu-ray collectors editions from Zavvi! Great haha
I can't see the collector's edition on their website. Can you show a pic of it?

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

$600 is the standard price. 2 people in the last month or so have sold them for that price on this website and another guy listed his for $800... No one is paying $1000 for these. You're forgetting that HD doesn't mean quality. Who cares if it's HD when you get better image details and over all ani...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

You said it pretty well... Unless you're a collector just buy the dragon boxes. If this collection doubled in price what would you buy? $700 DNR Blu rays or $600 dragon boxes? I'm a collector so I'm getting both. But I couldn't imagine anyone paying more than the Dragon box price I WISH the dragon ...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

Anyway, for those who pre-ordered this shitty release, it's the Season Sets - 4:3 AR Edition so you're still getting a crappy product but not as bad as the 16:9 AR Edition. If you feel like this is somehow worth $350 then so be it, some might say you're burning your money but it's your money so you...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

Has anyone initiated the mass cancellation group? I only pre ordered because I was worried they would stop at 3000 and not make the rest available until later. They really fucked up this "hardcore fans" release. And You can tell a non hardcore fan came up with it. They included a big figure... Becau...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

But it absolutely kills me when I see things change from the original, mostly when it comes to movie remakes like the lion king (the bloody movie was perfect and ageless but they still decide to remake it). I mean, you seem to have enjoyed the first (American) remake of Kimba the White Lion well en...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

Plus, even if this WAS a proper release, people would still complain that it is not a readily available set that's affordable. Now you're just making stuff up. You have no idea how much time, money, patience and love Dragon Ball fans have for the franchise. Hmm I don't know, I think he's right on t...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

Some people don't want things to change, and that's fine, but Dragon Ball adapted to the future with 16:9 and an updated vibrant pallet and it's worked wonders for them. It helped them get the show past that old fashioned look that we all love here. I'm not a diehard dbz fan in the sense where I st...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

Not yet, right now it is still shitty with the DNR and red tint, until then it is still a shitty release. And I don't believe their crap of the 3000 limited thing, as they already made the whole thing, they can print as much as they wanted. This was just their test of water to see how many people a...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

Here's a comparison I did between raw footage, the Black Brick, and the Japanese Dragon Box Z. Other than episode 1, what we have seen so far as regards zoom is very similar to the Dragon Box. Often times there is the same amount of picture, but sometimes it's more. ok I'm sold! (please have rock t...
