Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

I enjoyed this chapter, exact opposite feeling I had from the early leaks Come on ya'll, Beerus is clearly headed to Earth and is using the food excuse again. He had a serious demeanor while listening to Merus and Whis discuss the fight, and when Whis said Goku stands no chance, Beerus suddenly asks...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

The point is, It's in character and story consistency for Beerus to not get involved when it doesn't threaten his well being or food. Boring to one or not. He knew about Broly using Goku and Vegeta's blood for ink and didn't interject. Wasn't concerned in the slightest. No different now with Moro. ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

I'm certainly not the biggest enthusiast of the dependency mentality when it comes to Goku for the others. Yes, he's the protagonist and it's inevitable that he'll bear the brunt of the effort but some initiative should be taken for readying themselves in this fight. All of the preceding training w...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

I wish the manga had a creative artist. It's really hurting my enjoyment when each fight is shamelessly ripping off an earlier DB fight. Or taking moments and frames from the anime

Re: Will SSBKK and SSGE make a return in the anime adaption of the manga?

Vegeta used the manga equivalent of SSBE against Moro, so there's no reason why he wouldn't in an anime version. Goku hasn't had the chance to actually fight at full power yet in this arc, and now that he's done his training for UI, SSBKK would be outdated. We'll see though, if the anime even return...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

I'm sick of every fight being a rehash of an older fight. Also looks like Goku mastered UI at will. You can see him turn it on in the Merus scan I didn’t see that. If you’re refering to a facial close up of the UI eyes (in the upper left corner) that was Merus. However, in one of the panels (right ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Goku too deciding UI doesn’t fit him would make the technique pointless. Especially considering how so far it’s been hyped up as the ultimate thing for Goku to get. That's one way of looking at it. Here's how I see it: Dragon Ball is the meandering story of Goku seeking greater challenges and stren...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

I was looking back on the previous chapters of this arc and had a question: any idea why Beerus is so nonchalant about Namek slowly being destroyed by Moro? You'd think after the stuff with the ToP, he'd take things more seriously. Is the existence of someone like Moro actually a positive for someo...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Do ppl really still think that such power level-esque labels like 'galaxy++' tier have any meaning in DB? When has that ever been any meaningful or useful measure of strength? When has that ever been followed in DB? Asking an honest question here. I really hope ppl don't start thinking that the cur...

I didn't like the fight. I liked seeing Gohan kick ass, but the fight was too long. No need for the whole giant section. The plot advances ever so slightly

Never would have thought that Toyotarou would be using BOTH the anime and the DB Online (AKA Toriyama's) designs!
Do we know what's the explanation on this? Are the anime!Yardrats a different generation from the DBO ones?
Seems like the DBO ones are the elders/leaders.

Merus is clearly the Grand Priest. He told Whis that someday he'll visit U7 to have fun with Goku. This is his way. Amazing foreshadowing.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Many ways I think this arc is just par the course for DBS manga, and in other ways I think it's definitely worse. While Toyo does have some interesting ideas, they're often half baked, are executed poorly and end up having no real substance to them. I'm unsure if following Toriyama's script makes t...
