Re: Kirby Morrow, Third Canadian Voice of Goku, Passes Away
One of my favorite voice actors from Ocean. Had a cool youthful voice for heroes, but his performances as Teru Mikami in Death Note and Hasegawa in Kurozuka also showed that he could play a villain just as well. R.I.P.

I always enjoyed Sho Hayami as Zarbon. His deep smooth voice is music to my ears.

Re: Why do so many people dislike GT Pan?
Because how bratty and obnoxious she can be. The dub makes her even more annoying, but then again, that was one of the many problems with Funimation's dubs at the time, they made Bulma and Chi-Chi overly obnoxious and one-note. Yamcha comes across as rather unlikable with some of the dialogue he's ...

Re: If Dragonball gets a canon permanent ending again, will it be better than GT's ending?
Yes, but then again I never cared for GT's ending. Just came across as too schmaltzy and depressing, with the idea that Goku's family and friends will never see him again, not to mention that it doesn't make sense for Shenron to leave Earth when he's a servant of Dende, and Dende could just deactiva...

To this day, I find it hilarious that Dr. Wheelo wanted to put his giant brain on Goku's head. Seriously, that's one huge fucking brain! Another hilarious thing about the Big Green dub is how the voice actor of Goku, David Gasman, actually at one point sounds uncanny close to Sean Schemmel. I ...

Wow, I never realized there were people who disliked Armstrong. I've even seen other fans who prefer the original Japanese voice who really liked him. He was one of my favorite Funimation VA's, he could make anything sound good.

Re: Does English Dragon Ball need higher profile actors?
Compare the YYH dub to the recent Funimation dubs and you can tell that it's pretty dated. I still believe that it's only really liked to this day because they grew up with it and to them, it sounded slightly better than the DBZ dub. Sabat's Kuwabara makes it hard to take Kuwabara seriously whenever...

Re: Does English Dragon Ball need higher profile actors?
They'd be WAY too expensive to be in a show like this. And no, all Dragon Ball needs is good actors, they don't need to get Tom Holland to voice Gohan or Vin Diesel for Piccolo. And yeah, agreed 100% with ABED on Young's Genkai. Slightly better than her Frieza, but then it's really hard to believe h...

Piccolo sounding like Spider-Man would be so weird and unfitting. Thank Primus they actually someone who actually fit the role later.

Re: Dragon Ball Rewatch, Week 34 - DB episode 151-153 & DBZ 1-2 (CURRENT WEEK)
Sometimes I wonder if they intentionally cast Chiba for Raditz as he's the first villain in Z and he voiced Pilaf, the very first villain of the OG DB show. I always love when Chiba plays comedic characters, but his role as Raditz does show that he can do serious and menacing roles too. I have to sa...

Re: Do you still enjoy non-canon Dragon Ball content?
Yeah, I do. I suppose Minus is supposed to be the actual canon, or whatever, but I still prefer the Bardock special. The quality of it is far better than Minus. Give me asshole Bardock any day of the week. That's what was so good about the Bardock special, an asshole from a race of assholes that fin...

Re: Minority representation for minority characters in Voice acting
I think men voicing women REALLY depends. Ed Asner as Granny Goodness was f'n perfect. And wasn't the original actor for Uranai Baba male? I like Tanaka in the role, but the original actor really sold the "old crone" aspect so well. It should be rare, bottom line. Yep, he was hilarious in...

Re: Minority representation for minority characters in Voice acting
I couldn't care less if it's not a black or an Asian actor/actress doing the voices for Asian or black characters if they're done well. I mean, Monica Rial and Chris Sabat voiced African-Americans in a show I'm not remembering at the moment and they worked well. Samurai Jack is voiced by Phil LaMarr...

Nachi Nozawa was a lot of fun as Lucifer. Fun fact, the man was the official Japanese voice over actor for Al Pacino and Bruce Willis.
Also, the funniest thing about the Big Green dub of this movie is that a woman voiced Yamcha.

Cutest? I'd say Goku as a little kid. So adorably innocent and naive.

Re: Robotech Actors in DB, Yay?
I could see Cam Clarke do a good Zarbon. Tony Oliver would either work as Krillin or Goku.
And Robo's right that Barbara Goodson and Wendee Lee were well cast as Kid Goku and Bulma, such adorable voices for the characters.

I always loved that distinctive raspy voice of his. He was great in everything and always made any show more watchable with his performances. Also did great voice over performances as Iron Man, The Joker and Judge Dredd.

Re: Would you say Dragonball Evolution is better or worse than The Last Airbender?
I'd say it's worse. Everytime I think of Justin Chatwin's performance, I just cringe. And Ernie Hudson, why do you keep popping up in horrible movies, man? I guess he needed a paycheck. Chow Yun-fat was at least a decent choice for Roshi.
