Re: Vic Mignogna

For reference, slavery still exists. The amount of slaves in the world today is almost as statistically significant as the number of displaced persons(between 20-40 million). A work fetishising the relationship between an oppressor and an oppressed person to give off some Stockholm syndrome vibes do...

Re: Vic Mignogna

That's not what happens at all. The Shield Hero is mistreated by everyone when he first arrives and is set up which causes him to mistrust everyone so in return his mistrusts Raphtalia. The entire time however while he is using her he is trying to teach her to be strong and seek revenge similar to ...

Re: Vic Mignogna

Creating discourse isn’t necessarily the problem with the MeToo movement. Discourse and exposing and laying bare criticism of people’s beliefs and how society handles injustices in relation to sexual assault is a good thing. A far more valid criticism is that it’s something that has been largely co ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Enjoyed the chapter.

Know there is some blowback about Piccolo being grabbed and while even he thought it was sloppy, and I do see why, since its made explicitly clear that 73 used a special ability they copied in order to get the sneak up on Piccolo.

Re: Vic Mignogna

Do they have any legitimate grounds of appeal or is it just all bullshit? So, here's the thing with appeals... They're not a "do-over". They're just "did the judge make the correct decision, based on what was presented to him?". Ty's stuck with his same filings. Ty's stuck with the same lack of evi...

No? Its just the colouring for that entire scene. You could do that for literally any of the characters in that shot.

Quoting Google: Soy is a phytoestrogen, or a plant based estrogen. It contains two isoflavones, genistein and daidzein, which act like estrogen (the female sex hormone) within the body. Because estrogen plays a role in everything from breast cancer to sexual reproduction, this is where most of the ...

Um... Shoot. My gosh. We've all been saying that this whole conflict was never about Vic Mignogna himself. Rather, it was part of some dumb culture war against the "SJWs". ...Well. Here's a KiwiFarms member coming right out and saying it. [E]ven if Vic doesn't win everything, he still wins. He's at...

LOL at creating a design for a character that wasn't even animated for the most part.

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0

Kenji Miuma and Shin Youngsoon, animators who worked on Super(Shin Youngsoon was less prominent, I believe getting sick while the show was ongoing), both worked on the latest fire force episode, and did cool scenes. Now while this episode was made way in advance, still nice to see the staff from Sup...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Though I think the third wish a little lame, I will say something I liked this chapter is how they showed Moro's energy absorption ability in the context of Goku and Vegeta's transformations suddenly and rapidly progressing throughout the course of an altercation as opposed to all at once. I feel li...

Re: The rise of 80s anime art

This. THIS!!!! Barring Yuya Takahashi portions, none of the artistry or animation of DBS looked remotely beautiful to look at Lacked consistency of even 1993's Broly film & the CGI was even horrendrous compared to BOG/ROF CGI As said, its just one-film wonder & it'll probably be forgotten or replac...

Re: The rise of 80s anime art

I thought of DBS: Broly as a rare attempt at an old style that won't stay for long and will probably get replaced by models in the future. It's severely lacking in consistency, which models can do quite effortlessly, and they can be textured with spots for Cell  This. THIS!!!! Barring Yuya Ta...

Re: Takahashi Animation/art style influences

I know that Shida was a big influence of his, was Yam as well? Would love to know more We know he has Shida influenced (at the very least in his effects based off that time he posted a bunch of effects that were pretty much 1:1 with Shida’s work in BOG), but art style wise, I think people specifica...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie Thread: "Broly"

Overall, I felt like this movie was more climatic and larger scale in terms of production, than it really was in terms of story significance and script. The film has the huge blockbuster production you'd expect from a Toei movie, but doesn't really feel like it has the relevance and scale in the sc...

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0

Since its been a while, I think it would be good to breakdown where some of the animators have gone since the shows finale. A lot of notable animators, such as Atsushi Nikaido, Hiroyuki Itai, Shuuichiro Manabe and Naoki Tate, did large contributions for the Broly movie, however, unlike animators suc...
