Re: Do you prefer the true version (or anime version) of these DBS events over the manga’s version? If so/not, why?
I strongly prefer the manga. I have the manga as my main DBS canon but I still enjoy the anime a lot. Also, I have a bit of an unpopular opinion, that being that I much preferred manga's ToP over the anime's. Hit's fighting style and character development, U6 Saiyans against Freeza, Ribrianne being ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
Maybe Moro wished for another villain to come back to life. Maybe his master, the one who taught him all his magic.
I dunno, I have a feeling this arc is only getting started and that Moro is a subversion. Who knows only time will tell.

Dragon Ball should've ended at Cell
Now, this thread is not meant to hate on the Buu arc. I just want to state my reasons on why I think ending Dragon Ball at the Cell arc would be the best choice. Now let us begin. 1.Cell is the perfect final villain Before Cell, Dragon Ball had its fair share of great villains. Piccolo Daimao and Pi...

Re: ToP Arc: The Worst and most boring Arc of Super so far?
Well I personally loved the ToP, both anime and manga. If I really had to choose one over the other, I'd pick the manga. The manga's pacing is just like it was supposed to be: a 48 minute long battle royale. There are some things ofc I dislike in both versions like Toppo's poorly executed Hakai ener...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie Thread: "Broly"
Don't know if someone mentioned it before, but in the new story mode trailer of Jump force, particularly on the 41th second, Vegeta has green hair. Here, check it out yourselves : https://youtu.be/-b3tEqJ3-g4 Maybe the green hair Vegeta briefly had in the movie was some kind of advertising method f...

The new villain seems to be something like a mage, and he apparently sucks the life force from living creatures.
Very very interesting.

Goku's continual evolution in Super.
Note: This is for Super manga only, since the majority of my basis does not apply in the anime. I would like someone to do the same for the anime too, though. Since the introduction of Beerus, the return of Freeza and the introduction of the Super Saiyan God & Blue forms, the main character of ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
With Toriyama involved, it's basically confirmed that this new arc will be a main one, not a filler side story. It would be uncharacteristic for a manga to have filler arcs, especially when the Super manga always trims the fat the anime sometimes has. Also, I am very happy that this is a Toyo origin...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
One error I noticed in the last chapter is that in the panel where Team U7 is flying to their homes, Master Roshi is shown flying. The problem is, it was specifically stated by Krillin in chapter 33 that Roshi can't fly. Roshi isn't flying, you can see Whis guiding the Z Senshi. His aura encompasse...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
Have people seen the poll results for this btw? It's a poll for Goku's best battles in the manga: https://twitter.com/V_Jump/status/1066922147216449536 Majin Vegeta in 3rd place? That battle was like... eight pages long in total. It was basically a filler event compared to the other battles Goku's ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
On another topic, I think I found an interesting tidbit while I was reading chapter 31. In the panel where the TV broadcaster says that the people Cell killed were brought to life, we can see the rich man 1st form Cell absorbed. I don't know if that was mentioned before, but it's very nice to see To...

Re: Was Shin's name ever mentioned in Super
As long as I remember, no. The only use of the name Shin I can recall is in the manga chapter 28,when all the Gods are arriving at Zeno's palace and every God's name was displayed in panels.shadd21 wrote:Just curious, was Supreme Kai ever referred to by his real name at any point during Super's run?

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
And then he tears up at Roshi...and cries? Oh boy... please do tell us why this is bad. I also felt that it was a little bit off for Goku to cry. I mean, look at Z Goku. When Krillin died he didn't even shed a tear. Even when his sons died when Buu destroyed the Earth too. Sure, he felt angry, sad ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
This chapter is the epitome of what I love about this manga arc: the chaotic nature a battle royale should have. Yes many fodder characters were wasted but I don't mind this at all, since I truly don't care much about fodder getting the spotlight. They are here to be 'sacrificed' in order to create ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
That's the main reason I was happy with Beerus not being a true villain, Frieza being a joke and the U6vsU7 tournament not having any real stakes. This is supposed to be a peaceful time where characters are just dicking around, essentially. I was pretty disappointed with the Tournament of Power and...

Re: Future Trunks Arc vs Universal Survival Arc
Since I consider the manga to be my main source for Super, I can't make the comparison because the ToP is not finished yet. So far however, I prefer the FT arc but again, that's probably because I can have a full opinion on the whole arc. But I'd dare to say that the ToP has the potential to surpass...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
This was probably my favourite chapter of the tournament so far. I feel like Toyotaro puts out better work when he's focusing on one fight per chapter. Freeza fighting all of the Universe 6 Saiyans is something that should've happened in the anime, but all we got to see was him knocking out Cabba. ...
