Re: DBZ's Japanese Audio on Blu-Ray

I don't remember exactly, but I think animes like Gundam from '79 or the '80s have good audio quality, also because they're from Sunrise, and that company did preserve the good audio for decades.

Macross from 1983 had great sound quality.

Aoki Densetsu Shoot (1993) and Slam Dunk (1993) were ...

Re: Would a complete DBZ English redub be necessary?

A redub is not necessary and (most likely) won't happen. For many reasons. Money being the main one. With that said, getting an English redub that is faithful and has nothing to do with Funimation's DB dub(s) would be great. For me at least. But then again, I have never liked the Funimation dubs.

Re: Dragon ball super super hero flashback hurts because I would love a remake with the good filler of dragon ball and z

If we do get a new anime adaptation of the original manga I hope it has great animation, pacing, music, etc. All the good stuff. If it looks like the new Broli movie then that would be great. Realistically though the chances of this happening aren't much. I mean it could happen.

It couldn't ...

Re: What was your first introduction to Dragon Ball?

I don't remember what might have been my first experience with Dragon Ball. I do vividly remember that in 2000 I was watching Digimon but I don't remember watching Dragon ball at all that year. So my earliest interaction with Dragon ball must have been in 2001. Probably sometime around August when ...

Re: Do you think the anime should adopt 3D animation?

It shouldn't. This just comes down to personal preference. I prefer traditional 2D animation when it comes to Dragon Ball. A weekly or seasonal 3D continuation of Super could look good. The new Sand Land anime trailer looks good. But personally, I just prefer Dragon Ball to be animated in 2D.

Re: Why hire an old lady when you can get a dude?

Riiight. That's why TFS is hired to do professional dubs 'cause, you know, companies just hire anyone to do paid dubs. In my best Chris Traeger impression, FUNimation literally did just that with the in-house dub.

That Mexican dub is enjoyable and accurate, but Goku's voice doesn't fit at all ...

Re: Latin American Dragon Ball Home Releases

Here's a list I made a year ago about all the home releases that were available. I don't know if anything new was released since then.

Dragon Ball:
Mexico: only first 28 episodes available on DVD (by On Screen Flims)
Chile: all 153 episodes released on DVD (by Editorial Edisur)

Dragon Ball Z ...

Re: I love the Funimation Dub pre-Kai

That's cool. We're all free to enjoy whatever we want. Personally, I don't like it. In my opinion it is a terrible dub. But that doesn't mean people can't like/love it. A lot of people do. And that's okay. I just wish more people accepted it for what it is. A terrible English adaptation of Dragon ...

Re: FUNimation really butchered the pronunciation of Tapion's name

Why should English-speaking viewers even expect to have the option to watch the show without reading subtitles? That sounds just a little bit entitled to me, no offense. In my view, unless the viewer has an impairment of some kind that prevents them from reading subtitles, then watching a Japanese ...

No he shouldn't be banned.

Errors like what?

Well just what he mentioned. The lip flaps and the mouth moving without them talking.

Not that I pay attention to that anyway but if it's an error then it's an error like he said.
If I recall correctly this isn't exclusive to Dragon Ball . All ...

Re: Dragon Ball Movies HD Remaster - Amazon Video/Netflix Japan - Discussion Thread

Does traditional animation benefit from 4K? I've always wonder this. To me it just doesn't make sense to release 4K Blurays of 2D animation. But I don't know much about this stuff. So maybe the animation does gain 4 times the details in a 4K release? I would appreciate it if someone that's more ...

Re: Put your false Dragon Ball memories and confusions here

This is basically what happend to me as kid too. Since I had no internet or the home release, I had to rely on TV arings to watch my Dragon Ball . I would catch some parts of the Cell arc on canal 5, then for one reason or the other I was suddenly watching the Freeza arc, then I would continue with ...

I think lots of us here grew up like that. I remember I had to rely on magazines to know what time my favorite shows were airing. I was always very hyped when reading of upcoming Dragon Ball re-airs, also to catch those episodes I too missed for one reason or another. They also used to switch tv ...

Re: Put your false Dragon Ball memories and confusions here

I used to be very confused by the movies. It was a time when I couldn’t catch all the episodes on TV, and hadn’t really a clear idea of a main continuity, and I watched a few episodes in the wrong order.
I was quite sure that Goku had first transformed in a Super Saiyan on Earth against Cooler, as ...

Re: Put your false Dragon Ball memories and confusions here

False Memories:
I used to have this memory of me hearing the narrator specifically calling Trunk's buff "utra" Super Saiyan form "Super Saiyajin 3". I remember him going someting like "Trunks se transformo en el Super Saiyajin 3". Of course this is not true. That form isn't even named in the series ...
