Agreed. Price aside, the big killer for the Level Sets was the fact that it came out so close to Kai, itself an HD release of Z. I'm not sure how that happened, but I suspect it was a lack of communication between Funimation and Toei so that the former didn't know what the latter was doing.

My set came in yesterday and I just want to rant about the packaging for a bit because these things are horrible. The box the cases are kept in is awkward and bulky. They're larger than standard blu-ray/dvd cases so they can't sit on a shelf with them. The first book of discs came out of the box ...

I am on the episode where Gohan turned into a Great Ape for the first time. The quality has been absolutely stunning honestly, like it's really good. Some things I have seen on YouTube looked kind of bad but I'm unsure if that's the compression or not but we shall see.

I think in hindsight, had they waited until 2014 or 2015 when the new movies and Super started coming out, they may have sold better. Not that Funimation would know about those things in 2011 but still.

Personally I think artwork used for previous packaging is fine because that's nostalgic in its own way (like Goku charging the Kamehameha all the way back on the first VHS, or the amazing art for the OG Dragon Box). Screengrabs through doesn't make any sense unless they're cel scans, which the OG ...

I would suggest not trash talking and insulting Funimation if you want to be taken seriously by them. The people on their customer support line had nothing to do with anything that went into this set and having to read through emails that treat them as incompetent is only going to make their jobs ...
