Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Yup. He just didn't knock Jiren out of the ring. That's it.

Re: Zamasu's arc -- anime vs manga

Vegetto has a MUCH better fight in the anime, making him a lot more memorable. And about this I respectfully disagree. I didn't like seeing Vegetto getting punched around by Merged Zamasu and actually bleeding in the anime. It made him feel very weak, nothing like the Z Vegetto we know. Doesn't hel...

Re: Zamasu's arc -- anime vs manga

Yeah. I just prefer the anime version. His change of heart feels more real than him just being evil all along and snapping when he sees that fight on Godtube. I mean, as real as it can feel. I'm not pretending it was perfect, and I think there could have been a few more episodes where we saw Zamasu...

Re: Zamasu's arc -- anime vs manga

As far as Zamasu is concerned, I much prefer the anime version. By a long mile. To begin with, and this is my biggest issue with Zamasu's characterization in the manga, I really hate how they cut his fight with Goku. That was the turning point for him. When he was defeated in combat by a mortal, he...

Re: Zamasu's arc -- anime vs manga

Good question. I think they're more or less equal. I don't think I have a preference. Let's break it down: Plot : Almost the same. The anime has the mystery on its side, the manga has better pacing and structure. I also feel like the manga follows better lines of logic, whereas the the anime is more...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: positives and negatives

Positives - Vegeta's development. - The Zamasu arc. - Creative techniques and battles (anime especially). - Screentime to some old, forgotten characters (A17 especially). - Interesting new concepts and lore being introduced (GoDs, angels, universes, etc.). - Way more laid-back than DBZ. - Awesome n...

Re: The Anime's ToP or the Manga's ToP? Which one did you prefer?

Anime but it's not even a comparison. The manga version is a rushed, boring, unsatisfing mess, of which I can only remember the Jiren vs Roshi battle because of how ridicolous the idea is. The anime version is entertaining and interesting overall, with interesting dialogues and chit-chats here and ...

Re: Gohan vs. Dyspo or Gohan vs. Kefla: Who was the better final opponent for Gohan in the ToP?

Of the two, Kefla by far. The anime's depiction of Dyspo as one of Universe 11's big three was all tell and no show ; he was simply never an intimidating presence, nor an effective foil for Gohan. He was, to his very end, a nothing character. With Kefla, there was at least promise in the idea of he...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

How much stronger do you guys suppose Ultra Instinct and HP Jiren are than SSB Fusion? I've seen a lot of things thrown around. Exactly the same level, weaker, slightly stronger, dozens of times stronger, and even hundreds of times stronger. Personally, I think the truth is somewhere between slight...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

How strong would a hypothetical Ultimate Goku be if Old Kaioshin got a chance to give it to him? On par with SSBKK Goku from 123? Rivaling his Omen self in its various appearances? Something tells me he wouldn't be neither SSBKK, neither UI levels. Perhaps a bit stronger than SSB but that's it. I t...

Re: Db manga adult Goku is very much different from super anime goku

I disagree. I recently bought all the DBS manga volumes and read them in one go. I don't think they're that different. DBS manga Goku still acts goofy and childish a lot of times in almost every arc, and, what's more, he seems more selfish than DBS anime Goku. Not to mention, in the ToP he seems fla...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

Goku>Frieza>Vegeta. That's how I see it based on everything. The difference is minor but it's there. Beerus>Jiren>Broly>Goku. Goku was never actually "stronger" than Jiren. He beat him but that's not the same thing. And Frieza had to help him, among others. Why Beerus on top? Simple. He could do aw...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

I really don't want Merus to be Angel or to have some kind of mystical or unique background. I just want him to be a capable member of the Galactic Patrol because he worked hard to strive to that standard. Dragon Ball has relied too fucking much on gimmicky backgrounds to how character are as power...

Yup. Plus base Toppo tanked a lot of Golden Frieza's attacks, surviving enough to transform into his GoD mode.

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

Yeah, because, truth be told, say that Base Cumber is in the league of Blue fusions. So they go Evolved (lowball ×20 as it was originally compared to the KK) and then KK×20 on top. Well, I am telling you that SSJ3 Cumber would be equal. And he would probably win if he went SSJ3 Full Power (with Gol...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

I don't think Moro is that unique a character either but he isn't even a carbon copy of the characters he is similiar to, which is important.
I think he's distinct enough, although not remotely as compelling as the likes of Zamasu.

Also, I am not certain how Zamasu came back, I haven't been keeping up with the story, did he survive getting erased by Zeno?
Nope, no explanation given, doubt they'll give one.

Heroes is an absolute, complete crapfest of power scaling
Still, the episode was actually nicely animated.
