Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

It’s funny how this chapter’s dialogue about how Goku achieved Ultra Instinct fits better with the anime than the manga. So much for the “Ultra Instinct is the culmination of every teaching Goku received” thing the manga had going on. Toyo retconing manga UI with anime UI is smart. If you can't bea...

Re: Why is Vegeta having SSG so controversial?

Except for the part where Toriyama says he closely monitored the inclusion of Super Saiyan God Vegeta in the manga and greatly approved of Toyotaro's idea. Well it's fine and dandy that you seem to think that this somehow disproves what I said, but this isn't even what I was talking about in the fi...

Re: Why is Vegeta having SSG so controversial?

Even if he is weaker, it's not by a big margin, Future Zamasu was fighting quite well without taking much hits, a significant ammount of them were even on purpose. I probably won't reply further to this to not derail the topic, but I think Zamasu is actually a fair bit weaker than anyone else in th...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Because since all you make are declarative statements and never actually defend the points you push forward, I would be quite happy if you are truly done with the manga as you say. It should be obvious to everyone involved that the way that was handled was blatantly inconsistent scaling. If he deci...

To be fair, this is the manga's version of scenes like these: http://files.57gif.com/webgif/0/3/f5/7526b21a0...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

1. Gowasu said it was because he was a lord of lords IIRC 2. ...that isn't at all what I was saying. Trunks being able to be an apprentice Kaioshin despite not being born a Kai contradicts things. Zamasu is a normal case in which he was born a Kai and was trained to become a Kaioshin. 1. You don't ...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

Thanks , I did enjoyed this post an the previous one , good job on the compilation of info regarding gohan vs kefla . I’m not too much into strength discussions, I think is very subjective most of the times but I do appreciate this not too much subjective post . Btw ... my dislike about that battle...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

There still seems to be confusion over where Goku, Gohan and Kefla stand compared to each other and why. I feel like the manga makes it fairly apparent how these characters stack up, but I''m going to throw some relative comparisons at everyone anyway. Some people apparently like my posts? If anyone...

Re: What would you rate DBS out of 10?

Also, if I'm being honest, I dislike the manga even more simply because of how beloved it is. Everyone's always going on and on about how it's so much better than the anime and fixes all the issues...and I just don't see it. For every issue it fixes, it creates another one in a different place. So ...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

Regarding Gohan vs. Kefla: I will now state some pertinent information regarding both characters. No "headcanon". No assumptions. Only direct statements, information and explicit feats taken straight from the manga. No more, no less. - As far we are told during the Tournament of Destroyers, Cabba is...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

I'm really not sure if I have the energy to keep doing this month after month. I got an especially big kick out of the typical context-less, knee-jerk reactions this month, but even after all the haters should be eating their words, people seem more inclined to double down than ever. This chapter h...

Re: So how did the cell juniors survive?

This is about looking at a scene, determining it is an inconsistency, without actually fully understanding that scene. You mean that thing you do consistently every single month for every single chapter of the Super manga? That thing you do based on 3 or 4 out of context pages before the chapter is...

Re: What’s everyone’s opinion on how the manga has so far handled the Universe Survival arc compared to the anime?

I feel like it's still far too early to be asking this question. By the beginning of the last chapter, only 5 minutes of the Tournament of Power have elapsed. Even though several of the same plot beats from the anime have occurred, there's still roughly 40 minutes left in the tournament and 37 conte...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Also this chapter, Vegeta appears stronger than Goku at the moment, makes sense since Goku was out of practice I'm glad you said this, I was just about to post something about this myself. In chapter 27, Goku gets scratched by a bullet and mentions that he's out of shape. Meanwhile, Vegeta has been...

Re: Has Super impacted your opinion on GT at all?

I loved it before, I still love it now. Only real difference Super made is it lead me to revisit the original 3 shows before it went on-air, and as I hadn't seen them in several years, I was able to appreciate all three of them to a greater degree, and in particular, the music stood out a lot more ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

What you point out is wrong with the anime is just your opinion, nothing more. And this thread isn't to compare the two so, while comparisons are natural, I expect people to have common sense and, at least, read the title of the thread they are posting in. That's not what I do and, if I'm not mista...

Naw don't keep that stuff to yourself man isn't good to do that better to let it out than keep it bottled up. Not to sound like a douche but this is a Internet forum and not an echo chamber so it's no surprise that not everyone agrees with one another when it comes to something. Won't deny though that it can be hard to want to engage with others if it only seems like there's a constant stream of negativity...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Well, I was super excited about this chapter this morning and thought about gushing a little here before going to bed, but I thought "Nah, I'll post about it tomorrow. It can wait.". Reading through the thread today, I don't feel excited anymore - just sad. I realize I should have gone ahead and go...
