Re: The reason Goku stayed dead that no one talks about
Well, No, because ultimately Trunks creates an entire parallel universe where Zamasu is stopped from causing any harm. So he still suceeds in creating a peaceful world, so it's a positive ending. Just like at the end of the Cell arc when he returns to the future to stop the androids, thusly restori...

Re: The reason Goku stayed dead that no one talks about
I'd actually say it's quite clear from early on Goku cares a lot about the Earth. In the Pilaf arc (and to an extent the Red Ribbon Army arc) there's a lot of chill time that utilises the environment and setting as a mood. Seeing things like Goku running through the fields and fending for himself e...

Re: The reason Goku stayed dead that no one talks about
Furthermore, it's OOC for Goku to suddenly care about the Earth, when he was willing to doom the entire Universe in the next arc just to have a good fight with Kid Buu. I'd actually say it's quite clear from early on Goku cares a lot about the Earth. In the Pilaf arc (and to an extent the Red Ribbo...

Re: The reason Goku stayed dead that no one talks about
I mean, if the point is that Goku invites evildoers, then that point is invalidated by Babidi and co. invading even though Goku is dead. You are taking that point entirely too literally. Goku shows up for the Tenkaichi Budokai and guess what? A universe ending threat is there waiting for them. When...

Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)
I doubt there will be any transformations in this show.
From the trailer alone, this show seems to be as far-removed from an edgy battle fiesta like the Cell or Baby saga as possible.
I certainly don't expect to see any corny/edgy stuff like SS4 in this show.

Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)
Remember, up until SSJ4, transformations weren't a big focus in GT either. They were there, but they were very sparsely used for unknown reasons, most fans theorizing it was to conserve energy. Good point. I just wonder if Daima might attempt to recapture the 'magic' of SSJ by sort of going back to...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread
Who will master the ultimate technique of the gods in Ultra Instinct and become the strongest? Goku or Vegeta [Naturally Goku]. Who is suppose to "rival" the "strongest/most feared entity in the universe [Behind Whis]" Beerus? Goku or Vegeta. This is all due to training consiste...

Re: If Zamasu came back
Shenlong restoring a dead person to life feels like an "asspull"? Sorry Bora, back in the ground you go. Uhm, I was obviously referring to Frieza becoming billions or trillions of times stronger in 4 months of training. The manner in which Frieza was forced into the narrative for the nost...

Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)
I wonder why Toriyama had such a big soft spot for Shin. Because the Kais in general are a unique race in this setting. Unlike the average, they trade brute strength for technique, finesse, and hax, on top of having intriguing lore as the overseers of the Universe who live in their own special real...

Re: The reason Goku stayed dead that no one talks about
So Goku is basically the Saviour who "died for our sins"? The Cell saga is so funny, it's not even Dragon Ball. It's Naruto. So edgy, corny, melodramatic, and sanctimonious that saga is. Boy am I glad that Super has nothing in common with the Cell saga! If Goku is supposed to be a true neu...

Re: If Zamasu came back
I mean, Zamasu was granted Invinicibility by a set of Dragon Balls that can allegedly grant any wish imaginable. Are we really supposed to believe that Zamasu is gone-gone? It feels like he could come back at any moment with the excuse "Oh Zeno can't over-ride the Super Dragon Balls after all&q...

Re: Losing interest in Dragon Ball
What we are missing right now is an ORIGINAL villain. A newly-arrived villain that we know nothing about, like Black in 2016 and Moro in 2019. That invites speculation and tension. Frieza is neither original nor unique, as everything about him was already answered 30 years ago. I agree with this, t...

Re: Losing interest in Dragon Ball
I think it's the lack of stakes in the franchise, + we got an ungodly amount of powerful good guys now, yet no new villains to pose them a threat. Super is currently in a weird state where only Black Frieza is the remaining villain, and even he now spares the good guys instead of killing them, so t...

Re: Losing interest in Dragon Ball
I noticed in other sites some people are quiting Dragon Ball. Basically they are leaving the forum and no longer interested Dragon Ball anymore. That's been happening since 2019, after the Super Anime and Broly Movie ended. Why are we dancing around the obvious truth? Love it or hate it, the Super ...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread
"From Beast level to SSJ level." Lol Broly was never on Beast Gohan's level. Broly didn't face Gohan at full power but with "some gas left in the tank." Considering that the process of Gohan using the maximum amount of power that he can use before going Berserk with Beast seems ...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread
And yet, in the Tournament of Power, Vegeta sacrifices himself for Goku, recognizing Goku as the only one who can defeat Jiren and "trenspass into the domain of the Gods". Yes, because Goku's upbringing and training leads him to be better attuned to achieve and master UI, Vegeta and other...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread
Give Freeza the same half-century training with several gods Goku got and he'd have to fuse with Beerus to beat him. Actually, No, because there is no evidence that Frieza has limitless potential, meanwhile it is indeed stated multiple times that the Saiyans have infinite potential. Where was that ...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread
We've reached the point where we need to explicitly explain to people that being the MC and ending up as the strongest in no way means there cannot be somebody else with far greater potential, even though the show goes out of its way to say "you've trained 40 years, I've trained 4 months, and ...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread
Goku has been training his whole life and he's still weaker than Freeza. Both times they fought Goku only won because of a miracle (A legendary transformation nobody had seen in 1,000 years and then Freeza's own hubris). Hot take, but I actually think Goku isn't gifted and has average potential for...
